APBT crossed with a UKC dog what to expect?

I have an opportunity to pick up a 48-50 pound UKC bully bred pitbull, however Im not necessarily a fan of the bully and would one day like to get into a more sporting game APBT. That being said this bitch is pretty nice and what im wondering is if i took her and crossed her into some game blood would that deter some of the gameness from the pups yet keep them more athletic and proper looking? Also by doing so would the papers line up or would they be void due to one being a UKC and the other a ADBA?

As far as the papers go just send 2-3 photos of the ukc female and a 3gen. copy of her pedigree to the adba and double register her,that way you keep your options open.

Personally you should breed bullies to bullies, already so much confusion for people who dont know what a real apbt is.

 

The deterrence of gameness is more so for dog aggression, Im not in a market or position in which i could use true APBT as i don't have access to proper yards and a market in which people understand the true nature of APBT the people that seem to be in the market for these dogs seem to be more for the show then the go, I don't necessarily like the idea of having a bully or creating more useless bullies. That being said if i were to use some game blood it would keep the dogs leaner and tighter looking but perhaps mellow them out somewhat which caters to the demand. This is all a lot of speculation and for those who said they would be mutts perhaps this is true but thats why im asking people who have more experience with this racket then myself.

depends on your purpose. if your are looking to create good structure show dogs, or weight pull or hunting dogs...thats about what you'll get. The temperments SHOULD but may not cool as much as you think.

Isn't the bully lazy? I'm not clear on what your trying to do... What exactly about this bitches temperment don't you like? How would the ideal dog behave?

 

Well you can't just cross a game dog with a bully dog and expect to get a lean but mellow outcome. You will end up with a scatterbred mess, some will be bully, some will be lean, there's zero way to predict what those pups will end up like and no point in doing it. If you don't like the fire of a real APBT than it's not the breed for you. Also no one who knew anything about peds would ever buy those pups so you'd be selling to people who shouldn't own these dogs period.

 

Dont breed your bitch, there are more than enough dogs out there that already need a home, however i dont think you will listen to me, you keep refering to this as the "market" place and "catering to demand" which makes me think you are in it for $$$

No good will come from cross breeding, all you have is a mutt, but sure you will have that stocky look with a paper (gamebred) name as well, everybody gona love that:rolleyes:

Damn you guys all beat me to the whole mutt thing. But as far as all the stuff about breeding certain traits out and others in just wait untill you find what exactly your looking for. Don't rush into buying a pup just cause its available.

 

Look online and there's already a million more dogs just like what your wanting to breed.What's the point in another one.This is one of the things that is destroying this breed.

 

Fair enough this was more out of curiosity then it was out of something that i would do, i appreciate the input it was more of something i was curious about and i think it has been made pretty clear that it isn't something that makes alot of sense.:confused:

 

Well if you learned from this that is great and applaud the fact that you were willing to research before breeding blindly. Now if you want a lean dog.....work that bitch! There are several threads on this board of people shaping there bullies.

 

bullys come from staffs,

 

and mastiffs, and bulldogs, and god knows what else...ive seen a few that looked to have some basset hound in there too
