This is really great news! I am glad to hear of this outcome. However, something needs to be done about the current laws. These people are still going to be able to seize dogs and kill them before they have a chance to be proven innocent.

Thank God!!!!!!! It's been a long time coming. I think waiving the jury trial was key. Don't let ignorant people decide your fate, leave it to a judge who knows the law.

    Update...

Father and Son Acquitted on Dog Fighting Charges

As 74 year old Floyd Boudreaux and his 44 year old son Guy walked out of the Lafayette Parish Court House Wednesday afternoon, they couldn't hold their emotions back.

The father and son were acquitted on 48 counts of dog fighting.

"The lamb slayed the butcher," said Floyd Boudreaux.

Three and a half years ago the Boudreauxs were arrested following a raid on their Youngsville home.

The two were accused of running an international dog fighting operation. State police seized more than 50 adult pit bulls and puppies. The animals were later euthanized.

"That kind of judgment to come in there and kill his animals, that he raised like children, that I raised," said Guy Boudreaux.

"We denied dog fighting all together. We're not guilty of that," said Floyd Boudreaux.

The pair say they're dogs were champions but the medals weren't for dog fighting.

The Boudreauxs know some may never believe they weren't associated with dog fighting but they want people to understand it was proven in a court of law, they are innocent.

Jason Robideaux, the Boudreaux's attorney, says the State Trooper who testified in court said it was not his intention to have these dogs killed. He wanted to keep them alive for evidence. The Louisiana SPCA instead put the dogs down breaking what Robideaux says is a violation of the Louisiana State Law. He has advised his clients to seek civil representation to get the damages for the death of their dogs.

Wow, really great news. I know nothing can replaced the animals they destroyed, but hopefully the Boudreaux's get something for their deaths.

now here is what i find apolling,,,they said HE was doing animal cruelity, right, now that they proved he wasn't.,, what about the ppl that KILLED ALL of his dogs,,,

now you know if i was seen putting a dog down they'd lock me up,,, so why are they any different,,, they need to put them in jail NOW for killing his dogs...

and he really needs to seek enough compensation to make the SPCA really think about doing it again,,,

    HOOORAAAYYY for Floyd,,,

Perhaps the dogs weren't MEANT to be put down, but were killed instead inside a baking van in confinement that wasn't appropriate. I wish someone would step forward and testify how these dogs DID die (if it's true); those responsible should pay for their deaths and the cruel way in which they died...

He is in a way, of course....although if my dogs all died anyway....my nightmare would still be with me, as I'm sure it is for Boudreaux...

    Good God.

Some people out there are REALLY just ignorant. Lack of knowledge has alot to do with it. It's sad. And it's funny to see how many people will jump on the bandwagon, without even knowing what they're talking about. How about people educate themselves on an issue before they jump in making judgements and assumptions? Our breed in general is a victim of such ignorance. Closed minded uneducated people. UGH.

  19. Floyd Boudreaux should go all out against the people behind these atrocities perpetuated against his family and companions. File all legal suits in court to seek reparation for all the damages he suffered as a result of this barbaric acts.

They killed all his dogs summarily in utter disregard of his rights to due process.

Securing a favorable decision that would order SPCA to cough out hugh amount of money in favor of Floyd Boudreaux would teach these people a lesson. A lesson that would restrain these barbarians into thinking twice before persecuting and ruining other people's lives. More improtantly, to prevent them from further killing dogs in pursuit of their witch hunt.

Go Floyd Boudreaux file the necessary civil suits against these barbarians.
