anyone else watching? the affliction event is saturday night at the honda center in anaheim, i was lucky enough to be offered a pretty good seat for free so im looking forward to it. the card is pretty damn good if you ask me.

so who ya got, fedor or sylvia?

im not so hyped on fedor to be honest. he has fought a bunch of fat middleweight nobody's. sylvia has faced some of the best if not THE best in his career. we'll see...also hoping to see barnett win over rizzo as he is fighting out of our gym.

the UFC is also offering a free event that im going to DVR and watch later. anderson silva is moving up to 205 for this event.

forgot to mention that the first 4 or 5 fights for the affliction event will be broadcast free on television. the PPV is only 34.95 i believe.

I got Fedor winning. And where did you get a stupid idea that Fedor only fought a bunch of middle weight nobody's? The closest would be Lindland but he's a good middleweight fighter.

    p.s. He beat Nog 2x

I am cheap...watching the free UFC card. I will pay for the next Affliction, however.

  5. CHEAP you are Jitsu!

I am watching both! It is going to be a very looong night of fighting. Affliction starts @ 8PM (free hour) and ends around 12am. The ENCORE presentation of the UFC fight night starts at 12am........whoohoo! I have to remember not to drink to much and pass out on the sofa.......I hate when I do that:o:D

I like Fedor but feel Tim has a very good chance for an upset. Fedor needs to prove himself to me. In my eyes, PRIDE was a steroid-proned organization. Most if not all of their fighters fought juiced up. This is why their shows were so freaking great. Juiced up guys doing battle in an enhanced state. Did Fedor juice up? I do not know. Have the PRIDE fighters done well in the UFC? Hell no. Their individual performances have been shown to be a few notches below of what we saw under PRIDE.

Both cards are great! Tim has a good chance of winning and "The spider" has a very good chance of getting KOed. I would certainly bet if I knew where....

the only people i see recently is lindland and mark coleman. the last fight he had with nog was almost 5 years ago. the rest are/ were 400 pound mongoloids.

he is definately a great submission fighter thats no doubt. i am just of the opinion tim has fought better fighters and has a good chance of winning especially if he can keep it standing.

p.s. no need to talk to someone you dont know like an asshole.

I'd say they have had there successes in the UFC as well as disapointments.

yes it is, but when someone i dont know, or never spoke to talks to me like that, i find it disrespectfull.

if you dont like my opinion fine, challenge it all you want. instead you add insults, then follow it up with another smartass comment. it shows a lack of good character, or maybe you are a keyboard badass, either way im done with you.

    have a nice day.

Well what did you expect when make disrespectful comments like saying fedor only fought "Middleweight Nobody's"? The closest like I said would be Lindland but he's a good fighter. Fedor fought some great fighters(Not lately unfortunately) I think you're taking the internet too seriously and getting your feelings hurt. relax it's just an open discussion:)

If Big Tim can keep the fight standing I reckon he'll win. The Affliction card is free on UK tv, 9PM Sunday Bravo.......UFC Fight Night live Setanta Sports.

    Rocky,

Having been part of over a dozen "keeps" for pro fighters at lower levels I can tell you that steroids are used in all MMA events, the UFC as well as Pride (I even hve the inside story of how Monson beat the test from one of his training partners who used to train w/ me).

The trick is to use them properly (for recovery and enabling one to train more intensely....not to get bigger). Not advocating just speaking the truth from experience.

I agree, however, that Silvia will definitely NOT be a pushover for Fedor. Fedor is absolutely the favorite, but Sylvia has a punchers chance.

You are absoluetly right about me being cheap.

    In Fedor We Trust.

35 seconds, didn't break a sweat. If there was ever any doubts about his competition, or time off, they were put to rest. He's been trying to setup a Couture fight forever, both parties want it to happen. As soon as Randy is free from the UFC, we'll see Fedor do the same.

Of course nearly all professional athletes are guilty of juicing. I know Rocky's point was "lets see Fedor outside PRIDE where steroid use was rampant", there it is. If anything, watch the weigh-in's, he's in better shape now than he ever was in PRIDE!

Man was I wrong about Sylvia giving Fedor a fight...I was right, however, about not buying the PPV. :D Watched the UFC for free and watched the Fedor fight on the Internet.

$40 towards my backyard and Orijen food bill!

Oh, and Fedor looks natural for sure. I always knew he had phenomenal transitions from stand up to submissions, but he also showed great punching power last night.

What if Fedor and Silva were to agree to fight at 215? Definitely have to favor Fedor.

    LOL been away on vacation.........

i will admit i had my doubts, but i was embellishing it a bit i knew id ruffle some feathers.... with that said i was about 50 feet from the ring and damn! he knocked tim down hard! even more impressive was tim saying that was the hardest he had ever been hit in the post fight interview.

hat's off to fedor. i still want to see how he fares in america with what are arguably the best fighters in the world. im looking forward to it, 1 down now lets see him fight randy.

congrats to josh barnett and babalu.

  19. Fedor looked in better shape than ever and showed to be a Phenom indeed. I almost felt like Tim dropped on the "X" mark on the floor. I had doubts before but now I just say G@ddam!

I felt like a woman who received too much foreplay and only a jab or two before it was all over....if you know what i mean.

Just to clarify, I know that most athletes use steroids. What I meant was that in Japan, athletes come into the ring freshly "juiced". They fought at a tremendous rate because they were juiced up specifically for the match. In the USA, most use them for injuries and better training and get off it well before match time.

IMO, Fedor will meet Arloski and Barnett this year. If this is done, Affliction MMA organization will be short lived.

randy's contract should be up in october, the next affliction event is slated for november or so.

dont count out barnett altogether. he is a very good submission artist. it would be great to see either randy josh or both go with fedor.
