This was a tough one. I'm not going to base my decision on production records. I based it soley on the dog's ability. Just because I have the dog, doesn't mean I will have access to breed him to the right female. Anyhow, mine would have to be Searcy Jeff. The fact that both B. Wallace and B. Hemphill proclaimed him the best they ever saw, and the fact that B. Lightner said that the red nose blood in Jeff was as game was ever be bred, got me sold on the dog. His pit ability was spoken highly of as well. My second choice would be any dog down from the OFRN, back in the days. Third would probably be Davis' Gr. Ch. Boomerang. 5x winner and 3 times best in show, need I say more?

easy Tudor's Dibo. All great lines trace back to him.

Id go with Coy's GrCh ROM Banjo. A 100 dollar dog who made his GrCh in a little over 3 hours total time in the [ ]. One hell of a producer as well.

Thats a hard one...to me at least...not everyone knows the dog but GR. CH. Budweiser Crusher...I've heard nothing but good things about him and his offspring and their offspring are amazing!

I would go with pit general ! said to be one of the best dogs ever! To bad he was stolen would have been nice to see how he produced

There are a few but I guess if I could only have one ? Although I am partial to Colby dogs I went a different route.

GR Ch "35" The 35 Dollar dog. I loved his spirit, poor thing wasn't expected to be anything, he proved everbody wrong by being an 8xW . He was the kind of dog people make movies out of.

  9. A tough question, but that makes it a fun thread...

I'd go way back to Colby's Pinscher (abt. 1910). His record is vague, but reported as 24 matched wins not counting being used as a test dog, etc. He was a big one at 72 lbs. but J.P Colby himself thought that he was one of the greatest all time dogs...and others in his day corroborate his gameness and punishing style. If for some odd reason he was unavailable I'd probably take Garner's Ch Chinaman ROM...legend has it that his first time out he was game tested against a 3 x winner that was 10 lbs. heavier...and the punisher stopped him in 28 minutes. He killed his second game test opponent in 17 minutes and the rest was history.

I am sure a lot would say this, but can't pass up on Honeybunch and Ch and ROM.
I am could list about a dozen easy though.

i agree i would pick COLBY'S PINSCHER because of his rep of punishing and his gameness. he was a big boy but he wasn't 72lb pit weight, his pit weight was 56lbs and 72 lbs normal.

WOW , from 72 to 56 ? that is some weight he had to let go off before a show. I tought they usually get off only with about 5-7 lbs . Am i wrong?

And as far as a dog from the old days , i thing i would choose mongoose , or maybe buck :)

He was often fought at lower weight but did weigh 70+ lbs. He was a catch weight dog and was often used as the try-out dog. Not many APBT were of the same size as Pincher thats why he fought smaller dogs.

took some time to think about that i would have to go with eli even after reports of him being stolen the dog that he had produced were great enough to carry on the line.

same here, from what i was told he was a excellent specimen of the breed.even though he was big no one could touch him in his day.so i agree colby's pincher would be a good choice for myself as well.
