    Hello people.

Maybe some of you will agree with me, and some of you wont. But can anyone tell me what's going on in this video? I don't object to pig hunting in the wild where the chances for the pig are a degree more sporting. But in this video there are several dogs being set on one pig. When the pig tries to escape into the corner he is pushed back into the dogs. I am not really interested in pig hunting, so I don't know much about it. But in my humble opinion watching some hick doing it, it looks pretty disgusting. What is the idea of putting pigs in pens like this?

    Thanks in advance.

Sir what u are seeing is a pup in training to become a catchdog for hogs. U can't just take any ole dog out in the woods and expect him to catch the hog, it needs training and the safest way to do this is by penning up a hog and letting the dog practice, there aint nothin cruel about it, whats cruel is taking an untrained dog in the woods and basically letting the dog get killed because he doesn't know what he's doing

i didn't even watch the video because i knew what it was by your description.they are training catch dogs for future hog hunting.nothing cruel or inhumane about it.this is a needed step before you take your dogs out hunting other wise both yourself and your dogs can be killed in a short amount of time.

Any training done in pens, is now considered "hog-dog fighting" per new laws, and I had to remove the link.

Hog-dog training is banned in most places, as far as I know. In my opinion, this is due to the fact that a lot of people made it into public "hog-dog rodeos" which caused a lot of negative attention. If it was kept private and purely for training purposes, I don't think it would have been blown so far out of proportion.

As a result, you have more people just baiting hogs out in a field and blowing them away for "sport" or dogs that get killed because of lack of training.
