Illinois, 10' of chain, can't weigh more than 1/3 the dogs body weight, and we also have extreme weather laws. If it's too cold or too hot you have to have the dogs inside except to piss and shit... it's lovely...

Texas TX HEALTH & S ยง 821.076 - 081 Owner may not leave a dog outside and unattended by use of a restraint that unreasonably limits the dog's movement during certain times of day or during extreme weather

A restraint unreasonably limits a dog's movement if the restraint is a length shorter than the greater of 5x the length of the dog or 10 feet.

Also if it s in an unsafe condition or causes injury to the dog.

Law does not apply to running line, pulley, or trolley system if the collar meets requirements.

Those states that have tethering laws have given in to the Animal rights activist agenda. A responsible dog owner is one who can securely contain there dog using a tried and true method. By one taking away a containment method to secure there animal properly is being irresponsible unto itself. With these type of bullshit laws being passed without any LEGIT reasons is why our civil rights are being trampled on more and more every day.

I was watching this animal show on tv about pitbulls and one of the rules in there state said that there kennels were to big....really???? too BIG???? Is there such a thing as a kennel being too big that it could effect the dog negatively in any way????? LMAO...no wonder our world is all fucked up LOL.

Me personally if I was a dog I'd take that chain over a kennel any day. Same reason it's about a million guys in county jails saying fuck I can't wait to get to prison!

None here in Pa. Think they are working on one for inner city Harrisburg and Philly but it won't go further than that. Probably won't pass there either.

Florida doesn't have a statewide law, but in my county you have to be outside "supervising" the chained dog. It's dumb as hell.

the chain laws were made by doggers in texas. they are laws that we can live with. when the ar folks tried to ban tethering this was our alternative. if they are trying to pass tethering in your area our laws might be the choice for you. you will have to orginase and go and fight for it to happen. literally we had several hundred go to Austin and a very vigerous phone campaign. you can sit on your ass and let anything be passed or you can stand up for yourself
