Micro-Pits and Pocket Pits

No, this isn't something produced by Bill Gates. The other day I saw a guy walking what resembled a 2/3-size Am Staff which was blue, of course, but wasn't a bully, thank goodness. I asked if it was a pup and he said it was a Micro-Pit. I wonder what dogs were crossed to get this result. It may have been a runty Am Staff, because it had decent AST proportions, but I have a feeling some BYBs with dollar signs in their irises are crossing ASTs with some small bulldog/bull terrier to get a downsized AST-looking fad thing.

In addition I have seen and owned what are called Pocket Pits, that are simply small APBTs and possibly APBT/Patterdale crosses. There are some shots of "Pitterdales" in the Patterdale sub-forum. The Pocket Pit I had was a Ch Harvey Wallbanger bitch who was a smaller, pure white, female reincarnation of Jeep, with the champagne cork head and everything. Unfortunately she had a fatal heart attack before I was able to get any shots of her. I have a mega soft spot for small game bulldogs and SBTs.

To each his own. Although unfortunate if the ADBA and UKC register some of these oddball creations as purebred dogs, worse if APBTs. Even the AmStaf and SBT has a standard in the AKC.

20181222_150029.jpg Real Bulldogs come in all sizes. I don't understand why people wouldn't just want a real bulldog.. My boy, at 30 lbs.c.w . " God of Thunder" 20181222_150034.jpg

Fine looking bulldog! 30 lbs is a nice size and not that small. Back in the 1920s there were a lot of 25 to 30 pound bulldogs.

I was looking for something else and ran across this page on "pocket pitbulls" I thought it was a joke at first but I guess they are serious --

That pup looks like a mutant and I cannot understand why anyone would want to produce or own such animals. I always thought a "pocket pit bull" was just a small bulldog around 20 to 30 pounds... not a mini blue bully genetic disgrace.

That's a bully. A couple of sorry human beings who decided to get greedy and create a couple of crosses. A old English Bulldog , with a Pit bull head. I feel sorry for these dogs and the original Old English bulldogs especially. Based on greed, for more money, showing interest, ect.the original bulldogs noses are so smashed in they can't even breathe. Most have to be artificially inseminated and c-sections for delivery. So the tenacious bulldogs original bull baiting dogs are now have to have a damn cooling fan put on let a college football game cuz they're running hot.. what a shame. Just my opinion. and for the modern-day registry company such as ADBA, UKC, AKC , ect. to register these as American pitbull terriers is pathetic.
