Lol I did as well, then the bugger disappointed me when I asked him about a certain line and asked how good were they. He explained he knew sod all about them, neither had he seen any (at that time) as he was on the west coast and they were based in the east. At the time I just didn’t appreciate how big America is.
Joe was walking his dog Rhino at the time and a car mounted the pavement hitting both him and Rhino. Sadly both lost their lives. It was a hit and run and (I can’t remember) think they later arrested someone for it. I do know some that are still 100% convinced the RSPCA murdered Joe, as he was appealing his conviction under the dda at the time and a lot of legal minded people felt he had a real chance of victory. Must admit when I saw Joe’s wife Pat long after, we both shed a tear or two reminiscing. As FWK Joe passed way to young.
Joe wasn’t a dogman but he was true to the breed and fought to the end. Unlike the loudmouths who abandoned the breed or complied with the dda as soon as it became law.

Happy days for sure. Remember meeting lots of people from all over the UK, Ireland, Scotland, Holland and Germany 1 or 2 I’m still in touch with today. If you remember during the weight-pull they ran out of weights, so had to add people to the cart. Well muggins ere got volunteered by Joe to be the first person added to the cart lol.

Apart from maybe the Limey’s there wasn’t any top kennels in 86, as the majority were still learning the finer points of the game. A few at the show went on to be top kennels but wasn’t yet at that moment in time considered at that level.
Can’t remember everyone that went but do remember Springview was there and some were able to shut him up occasionally with a few words. The 86 show was for me was a fun and very educational experience, and I’m still learning.

Loads of people went to the shows for different reasons mate.. Some to pose, some just to look at dogs or enter the fun stuff like weight pulling and confirmation classes, obviously lots of inquiries on weights etc.. I'm pretty sure it was Wythenshawe that CH. Jacko's dam won her weight pull class, a brindle female and there's a good photo of it somewhere.. I was there with Scotsman and a few more from up north, Hell's Jocks was there with a 70lb male called Bruno, entered in weight pull and confirmation, they only discovered a year later Bruno was half Mastiff, don't think anyone who knew had the heart to tell them haha! I remember loads with thick regional accents bombarding Stratton with questions and he never understood a word haha! Saw Springview, never knew him at the time, but as blueboy said, he was loud, pretty sure NKK there too! They was like superstars, at least they thought so haha! Good days, leave home 7am, drive all day, watch dogs for a few hours, drive back home, walk dogs and do it all again next weekend!

I remember when I heard about Joe Graham being killed I thought of the antis straight away.. The coppers and RSPCA put all our addresses in the newspapers after DDA came in, we was getting anonymous letters from all over the country threatening to kill our families, at the time I just laughed since half the city was trying to murder me and my family anyway, and if them coward bastard antis even got near to the killing zone, they'd have been martyred on the spot.. But when I heard about Joe, I thought that's exactly the way them curs would do it.. Joe had a painful spine disease called Spondylitis, I remember how restricted his movement was and the poor guy wouldn't have stood a chance because he could hardly even turn round properly.. Joe was game to the very end, unlike some in gameness game who only pretended!

  9. Parliment cunts.....
Another injustice to not just ban dogs..but to take another thing away from people...
    another conspirisy.

Joe fought for the rights with the dogs.
long live the memory of Joe Graham!

Its mad how peoples familys were threatend over dogs?
    Wtf is all that about?

    That John Major the cunt...
bastards.is what they are....murderers and nonces.

The situation in them days must of been crazy...i remember reading Dr Sementrics book 'Gladiator dogs'and he says he apeard on screen in England to speak and stop the ban on pitbulls..Dr Sementric says he could not belive the attitude of the british public and he new there was no chance for the breed...he also says the tosa was banned under the same act.but says there was only actully one tosa in the uk.
he was asked on screen why the pitbull should not be banned and he replyed by saying "these dogs will love ya".
but said the british public missed the point.

The mongy public fed right into the hype.
    typical.

Always felt there a was strong rivalry between No Kidding Kennels and the Limeys, kind of north/south thing.. They was like a VIP club, but a competitive one.. Maybe I'm wrong but it's how I saw it.. Springview was part of it too, Scotsman joined later and deservedly so! I can't remember which Limey dog beat NKK's Jay jnr, but Fat Bill was there, had money on NKK's dog and lost the lot, the Limey's were ecstatic haha! Things happened so fast, it was difficult sometimes to keep up.. One day the Limey's were unstoppable, the next East End Kennels are going through other kennels like parvo! Then the Farmers Boys, The Junkyard Boys, Scar Kennels, then NKK with Swamper, Montana and Boon in partnership with EEK, the best dogs and kennels the UK has seen, or ever will see again! Just how I saw it.. The place caught fire, it was short, intense and probably best time of my life.

For UK it was probably as fast as we could reasonably hope for, but compared to other countries, it was tame JMO.

Yes mate.. All I remember was NKK's Staff beat King Limey's Pitbull (don't remember either dog's breeding) There was bad issues after and basically Fat Bill contacted King Limey in UK to say either get it sorted or his name would be shit all over the world.. It got sorted, and I heard things improved all round when King Limey stepped back from competitive dogs, but the Rivalry between NKK and Limey kennels endured, pretty much to the point where NKK was willing to set up shows for Scotsman's Tania and Max in hope of taking wins off the Limeys.. Tania lost against Limey's CH.Dutch and Max beat Limey's Smokey 2xw. That was situation back then to best of my memory.
