.. I was exploring around yesterday and came across this interesting book.. the title is "Best of The American Pitbull Dog Gamebred" (Dawnrest Edition) By Everett John.. I was able to preview a couple of pages and and it seemed very interesting with a few unseen pictures of dogs and dogmen of the past.. I was just wondering about thoughts and opinions, and if anyone had the luxury (literally) to read this book..

I started reading it. Goes a little something like this...
" Daddy, Daddy, Daddy, cur, cur, cur, Daddy....Daddy"

Those words are used so much it makes for a hard read. For a book retailing from $150-200 a little editing would have helped. There are good parts but it is obvious the book is written by a son who views his father as a larger than life figure in the dogs.

There are some good pictures...I'm only a little over 100 pages in.

There is a little preview not sure why the pics loaded sideways.

The excerpt under the photo says " Kemmer's Leko. Leko was off Kemmer's Bo Bo. We won 2 matches with him and tossed him. Many men who saw Leko's two matches said he was one of the best dogs they ever saw. We did not see it that way"

It is that kind of arrogant tough talk that is off putting and the mentioning of "Daddy" being the best conditioner and most feared competitor that has you wanting to set the book on fire. lol

A good friend of mine who's in his 70's read a couple pages and put it down and refuses to read another page. lol He says Norman was a good man but this book isn't accurate at all.

Worth collecting but certainly not worth the price!

Both photos are of Kemmer's Macho. Lots of Buckskin dogs make up his pedigree.
