I use a turntable and think it's an awesome piece to work your dog. I have some rough plans on my site www.thegrandchamp.com in the "MACHINERY" section. I don't have any photos of mine but probably need to get out there and take some. I prefer the Table over all other mills, ALTHOUGH, some dogs simply think they are better stopping it than running it.... LOL !!

However you set up your turntable, make sure you can switch the dog to running the other way as they tend to lean towards one side when working it. You need to balance out the workout. They are very useful especially if you live where you can't walk your dog publically and can be a great addition to a workout regime.

It doesn't show much of the turntable but this is my boy Trey working it.

How wide is the diameter of the circle gonna make one this week

Ours was 9 1/2 feet but if you have the space, 11 to 12 feet wide would be preferable. Even at 9 1/2 feet the dog tends to curve their body to work the table. As you can see in the pic I provided, there is a guard wall to the dogs right that helps keep them from traveling toward the center of the turntable. You want them to stay in the same path as there are speed differences on the different circumferences from center to outside.

Same concept as a Jenny but there is no bank wall on the wheel.

I'm thinking of putting one together on rollers though don't like the way the dog has to stop them momentum keeps going like the Jenny.
Thinking of a 8foot diameter due to space and ply sheet size.
Don't mind running the other way half the workout but besides that is there any other reasons a smaller diameter is not good or damaging to the dog?
The pic of Tudors table looks to be around 8foot if not smaller.
    Thanks

  20. The turntable needs to be at least 12ft. or else the dog will feel he has to run leaning toward the center. At 12ft the dog will feel free to run straight, therefore no need stop and change directions. DryCreek got it right, minimum size is 10ft, and perferable 12'....I have been building and using the Turntable in conjunction with the carpetmill since the 1970s....To good success I might add.
