Discussion in 'Training & Behavior' started by Soze the killer, Apr 14, 2018.

  1. I agree.I would not touch them.I think its better to pet them as there growing up.but as for in the square?when I watched it I was slightly baffled.as I said earlier,I like to use a positive voice.as I always thought dogs were great at listening!.not only that.but I thought it might give them the wrong idea?.after all, if it was for real, you wouldn't be allowed to touch.but anyways thanks for your knowledge.and thanks for explaining why some handlers use this method........

  2. I want all mine to love me(in a dog way not a human way lol.).as I think it can make a difference when times get tough...this is how I see it.if it knows your there, and it loves you.and it can hear your voice..well..how do I put this?.I can't .because that's the power of emotion baby!!!!..I need to feel a "vibe"with the dog.hope that make sense lol....I have a shit way of writing things.......

Hell yes that makes sense! If you don't think dogs and humans vibe you need to rethink your perception of things. Dogs are very in tune with vibes and energy.

I was talking to an old dogman one night and he got to telling stories.. Said he was at a match one night and the two dogs were both going for CH. Well... The match started out pretty good and the one dog kept loosing in the exchanges but was still scratchin. He said after about 40 minutes they came out of hold so the one fella started using just his finger tips as he went down the dogs back slowly and was whispering to it, after that, that dog went on to win in less than 20 minutes, the other dog? Well...

He went over and asked the guy what he was saying to the dog when cornered and the fella told him..

"i was telling the dog he can do this over and over and i was sending vibes of confidence through my fingertips"

True? Hell who knows.. Do i believe in that kind of thing? Yes sir!

I have an old friend who did an experiment with a litter of dogs. He raised them all up without much physical or verbal interaction. He was a very smart guy with a good "eye" for dogs. He didn't believe it made any difference in the gameness of those animals verses the dogs who he did give physical and verbal attention.

I don't agree as I feel I've seen the difference, but I'm not going to challenge his theory either.

At the end of the day true gameness is rare and there isn't much that will stop it from showing itself.
