I was invincible at 20 too. I think most of us thought we were.

It is a nice bike and I'm sure he'll enjoy the hell out of it even if we are shaking our heads lol.

It happens. My roommate when I was in the Navy bought a Katana 600. He dumped it or it dumped him, either way he was jacked up for the longest. It took him months to heal up. And when he was good to go he bought a Katana 1000. We left for work one morning up the old Military Highway coming to Norfolk. Foggy as all get out. We were doing 50-60. He came by us at what looked like 150-160. We got to work and he missed muster. We got off early, checking with his girlfriend, friends, every where (imagine a search without cell phones and facebook). The only thing two things that saved his life was a good battery and in the winter it gets dark early. At 5:45 in the evening someone saw a dim red light in the woods. He was about 50 yards off the road. The Katana pieces were strown that far too.

He is now 46. Still walks with a cane. Still carrying tons of pens and screws. It happens.

I'm glad that bug never bit me. I started off kinda dumb. Being dumb is mad enough, being dumb at a 150mph is way worse.

I cringe every time I see one whip down the road.

Like it was said, nobody looks out for them.

    Same here.

A young kid that works for me bought a crotch rocket, "knew" how to drive yet dumped it three miles from the dealership.

He suffered through the road rash, had that thing painted slick as a whistle and sold it accepting the loss.

He likes big trucks now. LOL

I got a 2002 zx600 when I was 16 through inheritance, and have had something every year until recently.

Last year I was on my way to work, and passed a cop going over 160 on a 2009 gsxr 750. He didn’t even hit his lights or budge. I took it as a sign and parked It in my storage unit for a solid 6 months, and eventually sold it for a huge loss.

Now that it is warm again I have started feeling the urge to have another bike. I recently bought a dog from a guy that has a 1974 1000 sportster that runs low 12’s in the qtr. considering going back for my first hog.

The guy that got me into the dogs used to swing by and take me for rides on his banshee when I was in elementary school. By 10 I had worked with my dad enough on the summers to buy a Xr100. It’s been a problem ever since.

I'm more of a 'whatever floats your boat' type person.

I se nothing wrong with a yard full of bulldogs. There are some that put right up there beside Hitler.

I have never been into the speed thing. I have built some really bad ass SBC's over the years. Then they end up in a old model 4WD truck, lift kits, big tires and such....you can only go so fast in three feet of mud.

I went to the drag strip Ester Sunday at Roxboro. Not even an inkling to sit behind the wheel.

We raced limited and late models on the dirt for a bunch of years. Never once did I want to be behind the wheel. Just not my cup of tea. I actually had more fun bullshitting in the shop during the week than I did actual race night.

The other guys in the shop aren't happy til they hit 125 or so.

When my buddy bought the Hyabusa I told his wife to go ahead and pick out 6 of his closest friends. She told me she had to get the insurance paid up. "first things first", she said. LOL

    Be careful.
