To all those who dont mind a touch of Bull Terrier in your dogs what about The Guvnor a pure English Bull that lost game to Limeys CH Dutch a bitch and scratched game in losing , he then beat GG Cooper a Pitbull/Stafford scratching hard to win , then he lost game to Buzz in over one and half hours scratching game whilst losing then as a old dog he defeated a Pitbull in around one hour forty , he may have had more matches and never quit , he was without doubt the gamest English Bull of modern times

It wasnt Guvnor that was confiscated in the Potters Bar raid but a bitch called Spice and yes the dog i was talking about is Carls Guvnor

Cooper may have been 3/4 bulldog x 1/4 stafford,being a sire x daughter breeding. I stand corrected.
Think i have photo's here of his dam & her littermates.

 

The Cooper dog was out of a brindle/white dog that was pedigree unknown , the owner kept the sire as a house pet . The dog was owned by a sailor who brought the dog from the USA when he was transfered to Portsmouth with his job , Bob Heys told me that the dog was owned by a woman as a pet and they took a stafford bitch to breed to the dog then took one of the bitch pups back to the dog and got the Cooper dog . I do know that KC papers were put on some of the dogs and was told a story were a woman was showing a male pup at a KC Staff show and the pup was 23 inches tall and about sixty pounds , the poorwoman hadnt a clue what the dog was that she was showing . The dog the sailor owned had no pedigree and its owners were not doggy people so the dog may not have been a pure pitbull but may have carried some American Bull dog .

 

Did guvner beat a dog called kozli...might have the dogs name spelt wrong.

 

Yes it was a pitbull from mainly Reid breeding i THINK it went around 1hr 49 mins

Very surprising as it looks very showy and not what you'd expect from such a capable animal.

 

He was a pure kc bull terrier.......i never heard of any other bull terriers that faired as well. I think a few were used but we're out classed against yankee's ...there was a dog called pirate but I think he was a cross ebt with a mayfield bred dog.

Lol.has any one read that funny little book "Pitbull Garden".by Douglas G Link?.lol he mentioneds the old bull bitch,and says the line is still going to this day(the book was wrote in 2010).he shows a picture of a red nosed red and white dog,what he says it's name is "BB"..and its line bread on the Old Bull Bitch.he says its100% English Bull Terrier?..I always thought the Old Bull Bitch,had a bit of Staff in her?..he also says it's got no Roman nose because it's "Game Bread".and been bread as such for many generations.lol.he then says it's a great Badger dog,and a great pit dog.saying it beat A.P.B.T.S.,I'm sure he gives the names of the A.P.B.T.S,aswell.but i can't remember what they were called.he also shows a picture of a so called "English Bull Terrier

 

So called English Bull Terrier called Belcher from the Bedlemite line.any one no or heard of "BB"??..any one read the book??.....
