I may have added before I have a Manager at the site that is an Alabama grad. He has said the same thing.

I'm not sure I would go Georgia over Alabama just yet. I'm not completely sold.

I'm somewhat a conspiracy theorist on the play off system. But Georgia has to pretty much win out to get it, which of course of they win out they will be in. Alabama is/can be the only team that can have 1 loss a get it no matter. If both they and Georgia win out and Georgia loses the SEC title game I think they are out. Alabama can lose that game and still be a lock.

One of the unwritten rules is that an undefeated or 1 loss Notre Dame team is always in. No matter.

The Big Ten will self eliminate itself based on head to head.

It has been a fun year. It has been along time since so many of the Top Ten have head to head games in November.

Another good year for college football.

Nobody will sit at the same table and rub elbows with a 1 loss Notre Dame team.IT hasn't been very exciting in the SEC slim.Their are some good games to come in the SEC but nothing exciting .Mcelwain is out at Florida so that will be interesting to see who they hire and will be some more vacancies in the SEC .

I agree. So far I will admit I have not seen nor do I see a SEC game on Bama's schedule that interests me.

I'm still hung up on Arkansas not turning the corner the last two or three years. It is like every year they are one piece missing. It seems like they fill the void only to have another pop up.

I'm not sure on the Florida replacement. I'm sure if Lane Kiffin interviews it is his job. That guy must be a heck of an interview. LOL

Or from this point the Alabama assistants will just fill the SEC vacancies. LOL

It should be a good November.

Florida fans love that high flying offensive style .They got use to Steve S and Urban M styles.Hated Mcelwains style and for whatever reason the offense just never developed under Mcelwain and wore the defense down.I don't get it either Mcelwain is a offensive minded coach and was a good OC at Bama.Pete Carrol said Macelwain was a snake in the grass and said it as a compliment. As far as the Bama schedule ,I think LSU will play Bama a good game Saturday.I also think playing Miss State on the road and prob a 11 a.m. Kickoff at Miss State will be a challenge. They also have to play Auburn in Auburn this year and will prob be a night game .That will be a test.

From a fan perspective I hope so. Blowouts and no contests get boring really quick.

One of the funniest things about Spurrier is people always mention the high flying offense. The ol' ball coach slinging the ball all over. They played really good defense on those teams that won SEC/National titles. But at the end of the day the Spurrier teams will always be 'fun-n-gun'.

I thought he would have been better at Florida. Or at least I thought Florida would have been better. it is always hard to say who is the culprit, the coach or the player's buy-in. The coach answers on either.

Bama good call on Mississippi and Alabama. I was at work and stopping by the break room as much as I could.

I have made a number of jokes about my squads this year with a buddy of mine. I'm a Fighting Irish fan from way back. Cowboys in the pro game. Braves fan in baseball. He is a Braves fan and a Giants fan and a Tar Heel to boot.

So now our running joke is that every time our squad gets spanked we text each other Roll Tide! as we are jumping on the bandwagon of a perennial winner. LOL

    Roll Tide. LOL

Slim gone be tough sledding at Jordan Hare stadium for Bama in 2 weeks.I actually like Auburn in this game.Bama is banged up bad.4 out of 7 linebackers out and had to pull a red shirt to play against Miss State. It is what it is but I like Auburn a lot in this one. They got Bama right where they want them.Would be a miracle win for Bama.Auburn is pretty dam good right now in all phases.Georgia hasnt played anyone ,East is terrible.Load the box and stop the run and put it on Fromm .To much for a true freshman on the road against a good team.

    Agreed.

Auburn moves people all around, all the misdirection and then it is still a down hill power type run game. Strange combination.

With all the LB's hurt at Bama I can see where they will struggle with Auburn, plus being in Auburn.

That could put the committee is a pickle.

Irony of this is even with a loss to Auburn I think Bama is still in.A loss to Auburn means Bama doesn't have to play the SEC championship game .They saying by playoff time Bama linebackers will be healthy again .So this leads to another potential Alabama vs Auburn showdown in the playoffs.Ironically a loss to Auburn would help Bama .This is hypothetical of course but possible.

Agreed. Without all those LB's I think I'm leaning toward Auburn as well. A healthy LB corps I may be a "Roll Tide" guy.

At work we were covering this same scenario. Auburn beats Alabama and then Georgia wins the rematch I can see both Alabama and Georgia in the four. I don't think Georgia is one of the four best but they will have a win over a team in Notre Dame that was in the top 5/6 most of the year. And then if they win out their only loss is to the team that beat the team and made it to the SEC title game. Pretty good resume in comparison to the other 1 loss teams.

Clemson is in if they win out. But either Clemson or Miami will give up a spot in the ACC title game.

I'm still 'out there' on Wisconsin. If they win out and win the Big Ten I have to put them in the four. I remember pitching a fit when OSU jumped Penn State last year.

I can see it being Alabama, Georgia, Clemson/Miami winner and Wisconsin.

With that said this Auburn could very well make the first 2-loss team in the four.

If Auburn beats Alabama ,they will go to the SEC title game vs Georgia and dismantle Georgia again. They would have beat 2 number 1 ranked teams and one of their losses was to Clemson who was number 1 at the time.Auburns loss to LSU was ugly at the time it happened but don't look so bad now.Yep I think Auburn will be a 2 loss team in the playoffs and a very dangerous team because they got right now.

Dangerous because they hot right now is what I meant.

    Agreed.

Can you imagine if they get in as a two loss team and Wisconsin does not get in as the undefeated Big Ten champ?

I don't think it will happen.I think Wisconsin will go down.A undefeated Wisconsin team would be in for sure.

I would think they would get being undefeated. Not so much that they are undefeated or they are one of the four but more so because other teams will lose out in front of them.

I think Wisconsin will lose as well. I doubt they win out.

If it ended today I would have to have Auburn in, but it is way too early to pick the four, much less one of the four being a two loss team.

The ESPN show on the Alabama/Auburn rivalry is one I could watch over and over. It seems more like being a religious faith than a football fan. It is awesome.

We have Carolina-Duke around here. It depends what side of the fence you are on whether it is Carolina-Duke or Duke-Carolina. There are a lot of A-B-C fans too. "Anybody but Carolina".

Both rivalries are recognized nationwide but the cut runs deeper inside the respective states.

Nationwide popularity I would think the Carolina-Duke game is the greatest rivalry in sports. Maybe even credit Dick Vitale and ESPN with making a in-state rivalry one of the more watched games nationwide than maybe any other regular season game.

The Roll Tide- War Eagle is right there but with way more passion per fan. Religion I think.

Same here. My wife went to Carolina. Several in her family are of the Duke faith. Thanksgiving at the table can be tense. If Thanksgiving were in Feb. or March, we would have to move that holiday until after the tournament.

I'd imagine the family gathering down there at Thanksgiving is normally within a week or two of the 'game'.

Most families try to shy away from politics and religion at the table, ours we have to leave basketball out too.
