It is a very interesting story.I think its very possible, especially when we consider how many other Dog Men from USA used Staff blood in thier programs.[/QUOTE]

Like who ? Iv never seen one SBT in American bred APBT pedigrees? or any USA dog man say they matched dogs with SBT blood,,,when they said Staff they are on about American Stafford Terriers, and they are just a AKC show version of the APBT,,all tracing back to APBTs...

you got any photos of SBT before 1935....any how not all Pit dogs that went to USA CAME FROM england,,,unless you call every Pit Bullterrier that came from British isles a SBT ,,,like dogs from Scotland , Wales ,London , Ireland,,,

I agree Dusty on Amstaffs and not Staffs.I dont agree as far as Tudors importing ensglish staff blood way back then.I am not going to say this happrned but I will say it was possible ! Not much difference to me in English Staff or American so take it however.

Even in 1935 and after there were still game Stafford's but today's kc Stafford's well they don't even look like a Stafford .but there was still people that didn't go the show route just because they got show recognition don't mean everyone did same with the American version you could still buy a quality game bred Stafford after 1935

There is not one bit of evidence , that Tudor imported any dogs from Europe , never mind a show breed ,,by the 1950s ,the breeders of SBT ware all show people ,, there was no lines left, that ware bred for sport or gameness , they 1950s they ware all bred for KC show conformation

You know any ,,,? I never once seen a SBT breeder of a line of SBT bred for just gameness , they ware bred by show people ,,,

the people who got the SBTs recognized by the kc ,,ware only into showing ,,,any SBTs from 1935 onwards ware bred for show ,,,unless you can show other wise,,

I know a old man who had Staffordshire Terriers in my area in the late 90's and early 2000's before the sport became a felony. He did match them amd he had a high win percentage with these dogs.I can even tell you that he got the dogs from a breeder around Miami Florida.I could tell a lot more but no need to.I saw these dogs with my own eyes and put had my hands on them.So if they are here ,I find it hard to believe they are not in Europe or else where.

Am'staff ,,there is plenty in Europe ,,but just show dogs ,,not one would use them for sport ,, they are not the same , even their build is very stiff ,,like the way Bull terriers move,,, as for SBT ,,they being a show dog since 1935 ,,,at start they ware good , and have ok conformation ,,then in 1948 they changed the standard ,,weight stayed the same ,,but the reduced the size from 18 inches to a 16 inch limit ,,, since then they become a toy dog ,,,

I didn't say that, you said there were only show staffords after the 1950's, or did you mean just in the states?

by the 1950s,,in UK ,,there ware only show SBTs,,,, no other dogs , why would Tudor import a show dog ?

  20. Jstaff

    Jstaff Big Dog

I'm not talking about anyone importing dogs and I agree with you, can't see why Tudor would import a show dog it makes no sense!
But if by the 1950's there were no game staffs around then were did all the good staffs from the 70's and 80's come from?
