    Not me. Never been into the birds other than family gathering conversations. My ex brother in law and several in his family lived, ate and slept the birds. I went once or twice but just did not click for me.

    I was a big fan of his before I heard he had dogs, the dogs made it like the bonus plan!

    Same here, with pretty much all what you wrote. Never got into the birds, they're too fragile and it's over in a blur of feathers. Had friends that were into them and they are definitely some aggressive ass birds but just not the same for me I guess. I prefer the dogs, I would however own one just for shits and giggles and do think they are perdy. First time I seen a pic of Jones yard of birds I was like damn, looked just like a yard of bulldogs but with A Frame houses and little 4 foot dirt circles in even rows. Birds were on a cable set up. Shit looked professional as fuck. Wish I new what I did with that pic I'd post it. Seen it years ago.

    Agreed. I went to breed to a Buck dog one time and when I turned onto the path after a hundred yards or so the tree line opened up. It must have been 200 chickens tied out. The little A frame houses looked like they had been set using a string and level. Picture perfect row after picture perfect row. Perfect little 4 foot circles like you said. The guy told me it was his Pops and Grand pops. He said it took one hour ever day to walk the rows and throw scratch feed.

    Just not my cup of tea. They make T shirts at their shows to commemorate the event. I remember one with two birds pictured up in the air throwing the blades at one another and captioned with "Steel don't lie". I thought that was pretty cool. The only one I could come up with was two dogs squared off at the show, "The box don't lie". Corny in comparison.

    I know the pic you ae talking about. Late 90's early 2000's time frame.

    Still only a misdameanor in Alabama so I know a few folks inthe birds.I get asked 3 or 4 times a year to go to shows.Same with me though , just not my cup of tea
    Was scouting some land early fall for hunting and I am out in the sticks and hear what sounds like a rooster lol.I go and investigate and came up on the back side of a man's propertyand thier they were.I don't know how many it was and wound up hunting somewhere else.He had a very neat , clean setup and like Slim was saying the rows wers perfectly straight.I've saw a few yards and all the rows seem percectly straight and clean.Lots of roosters in Alabama.

    For turkeys hunting near chickens is prime around here. I have about 7 or 8 game chickens. The hens run loose. When they are laying and making all that racket I often see the gobblers crossing the road (bamaman, duplicate of the pic you posted about the road and tree line). The laying hens draw them in.

    They lay on the regular so we pick up eggs here and there. The dogs get most of them.

    The gamefowl I have seen are all really pretty, and it would be fun to have some around. Did you know that chickens are the closest living relatives to the T. rex?

    Lmao....I remember the bird move C.Jones was one of the most entertaining fighters I've had the pleasure to watch in my lifetime...Roy was unbelievable in his prime(from Middleweight to heavyweight) it's just sad he had to get old lol

    After he quit under Diaz the first time he went from a media whore to all 'non-media'.

    Now it is back to being a media whore.

    Which in my opinion, is frikkin' brilliant. He and Floyd both have the business side nailed down, damn near WWE, but nailed down.

    Ok so we've established that the Mayweather vs. McGregor will be boxing, not MMA. But since this thread also has a boxer vs. MMA element, let's imagine Tyson at his prime. Then train him to defend against kicks and takedowns and submissions. His strategy would be to swarm the opponent with punches while not getting kicked in the head or taken to the mat. If taken down, his strategy would be to avoid submissions and try to get back up and swarm some more. A Tyson punch with MMA gloves would really mess someone's day up. My point here is that a beast with advanced boxing skills coupled with basic defensive skills against MMA attacks could probably win.

    I agree with you he would have a decent chance that's for damn sure. Mike Tyson in his prime had such tremendous speed as a heavyweight he would be a hole new ball game. As for strategy I think a boxer with the speed of Tyson should be a counter puncher in a mma match. For example if the mma fighter shoots for a take down step back right uppercut followed by left hook. And try to counter punches and kicks without getting grabbed. As for on the ground it would be a bad spot for Tyson. Maybe he could just stand up every time like Chuck Liddell always did.

    I would have Mike go all offense! Swarm and throw. Dirty boxing was his specialty!! Dont y'all remember? Mike threw elbows WITH his punches, a very high level technique! His hook punch was followed by an elbow. Mike was POWERFUL, and I'm sure strong as an ox! I think with some takedown defense he could have had a Chuck Lydell type run. Maybe not as long, but if he developed ANY type of kicking or takedown skill it's a wrap. Mike Tyson ground and pound?!?!? Ooooohh nnoooooo

    Early (Cus D'Amato) Mike Tyson would fair well in MMA. His foot work was as good as it gets for a guy who threw as hard as he did. It is one thing to slide your feet and flip a few punches out there but totally different to move your feet to that same spot, plant and deliver bone breakers.!

    Early Mike would do well as his feet would put him in a position where his hands were lethal. In close his elbows left as many bruises as his hands. Imaging if he did not have to hide those elbows or need to slip one by the referee.

    Mike with out D'Amato, teamed up with "Pookie and Ray Ray-Boxing for dummies" management team, latter on Mike would get murdered, just like he did in boxing.

    Mike Tyson is my favorite fighter of all time for the simple reason he is more like a bulldog than any other fighter ever. He was vicious and had finish. He came to win in the ring not on the cards or the court of popular opinion. He was easily shaped into top notch condition. He had zero social skills to cope with normal people. He was at his best when he was chained up (D'Amato in control), dates and weights set (D'Amato and Cayton) and brought out every 5-6-7 months. Brought home, rest a few weeks and right back into keep.

    If D'Amato had lived he would be the undefeated, arguably the greatest heavyweight of all time. He would have fought 60 plus times. In that time span there was no fighter who had enough in the tank to find the cur that D-Amato/Cayton could hide.

    He was a pit bull.
