I actually thought Roy's salivary glands were damaged, but its been 15+ years since I heard the details.

  3. Time for the Real story.

Rapid Roy and Rollbar lived in Southern Ontario just outside the Guelph area. ANYONE familiar with the AREA knows that there are NO WOLVES there. Especially back when Roy was alive. They have started increasing in #'s down there but not until after 2000. So Roy either got into it with another stray dog or a coyote....but that don't make a story worth writing. I won't get into what's wrong with the show story, other than it's a bunch of BS other than a dogs neck was broken.....big deal!

Not saying the Wolf story is true but I do believe its possible. We live 20 miles from Florida and my buddies trail cam captured 3 pictures of a Mountain Lion last week.Again , not saying the Wolf story is true but possible.

  7. You might find Cougars on trail cams in Florida, but in South Ontario until recently you didn't see anything predator except coyotes and humans. They have been documenting the change and move south of the last decade, same with bears. But back in the days of rapid roy, the chance of that dog facing a wolf outside of the greater Toronto area which is where Rollbar was outside Guelph, was lower than 0.000000001%. Algonquin park is the furthest south they would be seen back then, and that's over 300-400km north or his kennel. You don't find cougars in South Ontario either...

This isn't about what happen w Rapid Roy because I wasn't there. But just the other day I was reading about the hybridization of wolves and coyotes in southern Ontario. The article stated that is where they were first recorded and now are found all the way down south to Virginia.

  9. I live in Western North Carolina mountains & in the last area I lived before I moved I heard coyotes calling while on the front deck whilst

Not to speculate on whether Roy encountered a wolf or not....animals move in mysterious ways. Just watched an episode on National geographic about the hunter that shot a polar bear only it turned out to be some of sort of cross between a polar bear and a grizzly bear. The first claim was that there were no grizzlies within hundreds of miles.

In the mid 90's I was coming home from work and turned onto a road with an uphill grade. Something crossed the road a ways away and my firs thought was it was a bear. In the 90's the bears migrated from the mountains of NC to the coastal areas. According to the biologists their preferred route was of a southern nature in the lower part of NC. I live on the NC/VA line. The next day a good friend of mine's wife pulled the curtain back at the kitchen sink only to have a black bear looking her in the face. Biologists said by tracks and impressions he was over 500lbs. Some 20 years later they are a common occurrence.

We had no coyotes here in the 70's and 80's. The fox dog people went to Texas and Oklahoma and brought them back by the truck loads for the fox pens. Of course they escaped the pens and are more than thriving in NC.

    Shit happens.

We got Black Bears here to as far south as I am.Few years ago a man was attacked coming down out of a tree stand and luckily for him he had a side arm.Animals do move in mysterious ways.Back in the 90s a man ran over a black bear crossing a road and from then on we knew they was here and more and more sightings reported.

My son had a friend with a little brother who is absolutely wide open. He struggles with ADHA and autism. They pulled int he yard and he screams, "Mom, it is a bear in the yard". And like all good Moms, "There are no bears around here". Until she went to open her door and the black bear was looking at her. She called 911 and when the deputy arrived he got out of the car and told her there were no bears in this part of the state. As he walked to the car the bear walked around the corner. Never think a law enforcement officer does not have a 'shit and git' gear.

They called animal control and the guy says if the bear is still there she has a cub(s) in the area. Do not get out of the car. When they arrived they tranquilized the mama bear and there were two cubs swinging on the basketball goal.

She says no when he comes up with that wild off the wall shit you have to make it a point to pay attention, LOL

Roy's career as a stud dog was cut short, but despite that he still managed to make ROM. I can't remember the dogs off of him for the life of me that gave him that title. I had them committed to memory once upon a time, but i'm getting up in age and didn't think it was to important too write down. If you are lucky enough to get your hands on this coveted outlaw bloodline find yourself lucky! They are definitely everything anyone would wont in a bulldog. They are all around dogs!!!

  19. I know this is a REALLY old thread, but does anyone know where I can find the story of Rapid Roy vs the Timberwolf??? I can't seem to find it anywhere online. Or if someone can give me a quick recap on the story and the outcome btwn the two animals, that would be appreciated. I'm dying to hear what happened

If I remember correctly he had won 1, got jumped on by a timber wolf, suffered career ending damage and that's the story
