I'm being forced to get it at work. Be the first year in 15 that I got a flu shot. I ain't thrilled about it but it's manidtory these days in many health care facilities. Especially if you have patient contact. Makes me sick to my fucking stomach that I'm being forced to do it. I don't feel my employer should have the right to tell me what I need or don't need. My particular specialty is infection control. I will tell anyone and have on many occasions, the flu vax is a combination of the 3 most common strains of influenza from the previous season. Now, anyone who knows anything about influenza knows just how fast it mutates into another strain leaving that bullshit vaccine worthless unless you happen to pick up one of those 3 strains. There's hundreds of thousands of strains. Their shooting a BB gun at a stealth fighter jet.

On top of that, is has more than 10x the mercury in it than what the EPA will allow in your drinking water and still say it's save to drink and they fast route it into your system by way of injection. Unfortunately though, got to make money to keep the lights on so I've bent my morals on it since they've closed the loop hole in the policy I've used for years as to why I don't want it. Fucking joke if you ask me.

I also use to be close with someone who's child was perfectly normal up until around 3 or 4 when they gave him the MMR combo shot. He has autism these days and his mother states symptoms developed shortly after receiving that shot. Tough battle proving it. Both sides have solid info to debunk the other. FDA got long money and plenty of political backing. They'll never let out the idea of the connection between autism and that vaccine.

Try to talk to people about this shit and you'll end up just getting that Floride stare in return. I'm not a anti vaccine type, some are definitely necessary however when I was a child, I received a total of 8 vaccine injections, today's kids get 32+.

Don't let your little girls get the gardisil vaccine either. The guy who helped develop it even said it was a worthless vaccine. 90% he says will come in contact with it naturally, out of that 90%, 90% of people who contract HPV, their normal flora will fight it off. The other 10 get treatment. Said theres no real proof the vaccine even prevents HPV.

This is the shit we pump into our kids yearly...

According to the CDC, AAMI and AORN policies, Hand washing regularly or the use of hand sanitizer is the #1 best way to prevent the spread of any pathogen, virus or bacteria. Teach your kids proper and regular handwashing instead of pumping all these chemicals and live virus into their bodies is my professional stance on these fly by the night vaccines..

Basically he says if ya dont want them fine, no biggie... Yet then he says but dont send your kids to public school to infect mine... Whoaaaa, Wait, if your kid has been injected, then how is he gonna catch shit from mine if mine hasnt & gets something.... It seems ya aint got much faith in that shot....They had adverse effects on my youngest.. However, I love him as God seen fit to make him & will do my best to ensure he has the best life he can how he can...... F the feds & fda.. F big phrama ......

I didnt know it was ALREADY this bad that they would force you to get it at work, what are the legalities of a work force making it mandatory for one to get a flu shot?......I know schools are trying to force parents to get there kids vaccinated or else they wont be able to attend but like RDRN said if all the other kids are vaccinated why the fuck are they worried about the kids that are not vaccinated unless there vaccinations DONT WORK like they claim LOL...in which they DONT.......Before I got my first Flu shot I havent had the flu in 4 years or so....right after my first Flu shot I got the flu within that same fucking YEAR so how the fuck did I go from not having the Flu for almost 4 years to getting a flu shot and having the flu within that same year??? Oh and this didnt only happen to me as I know of a Dozen of my relatives who all experienced the same thing so that just fucking proves that flu vaccine SHIT dont work for fuck all. LMAO

I have not received a flu shot for many many years. Close to 20 probably. Maybe about that long since I've had the flu. Maybe good genes, maybe good weed.

Obviously, I am not pro vaccine, but do y'all vaccinate your pups? If so, why? I do. For parvo only as pups. Maybe I don't need to do as nobody comes here and pups don't leave the property.

I do it a few times when I remember but they all get at least a first shot maybe the 6in 1 or 7 in 1 then after that I don't really bother I never seem to of ever had a dog catch anything but I don't socialize my pets anyways usually

I do 3 DHLPP vaccines at 8,12 and 16 weeks of age. A booster at 1 year after that. They never get stuck again with that vaccine. I do rabies at 1 year then every 3. I wouldn't even do rabies if is wasn't mandatory by law.

I do it for the parvo mostly as well. Been having pups for 22 years now and have never had a case of parvo here. I have helped others in my neck of the woods with it though and it left a lasting impression on me. Enough of one to vaccinate against it anyway.

As for the flu, I don't even remember the last time I had that. I work directly with everything that comes out of a humans body. Flu is the least of my worries. I never get sick. I always felt that since I work around so many germs daily my immune system is just naturally a monster! Good Hand hygiene and proper use of PPE I'm sure helps lower my chances of getting ill as well. That good gas isn't hurting anything either. Lol.

It's not so much a legality as it is a policy of the individual facility. I can refuse it due to one of 2 reasons:

    1. Religious
    2. Allergies to one of the ingredients.

However, I and most other health care providers are at will employees. Meaning they can let you go for whatever reason they seem fit to cut you loose. I always had to sign a decline vaccination form every year I refused the flu shot. This year they added that if you refuse it, it can only be for one of those appropriate reasons then you will have to wear a face mask during the entire flu season Oct - April. While in patient areas. Lol I work in an O.R so everyplace is a patient area. They got me this year. I don't want to worry about my job so I've just decided to comform against my will. Not much I can really do about it except quit my job and that shit ain't gonna happen. Gotta eat lol. Shits stupid IMO.

Damn that is some fucked up shit as it seems they are making up any type of excuse to basically force one to get vaccinated by making up all those bullshit stipulations.......it makes no sense to force one to wear a mask if one is NOT sick....What is the difference between a HEALTHY person who got the vaccination as opposed to a HEALTHY person who didnt get the vaccination? NOTHING because they are BOTH HEALTHY. LOL....one only has to worry of those that are actually sick. LOL

I feel you on you have to do what you have to do to keep your job its just sad that our freedoms to choose are dwindling further and further. I just hope you dont get sick from the vaccine, wish you the best of health man.

And to the second part of the question, why? Why do you vaccinate pups when you believe so strongly about not vaccinating humans? Just curious why it applies to one scenario and not the other.

I'm not anti-vaccine at all. I just don't want to have to get certain ones like the flu shot or garicil for my daughter. I feel it should be left to the individual not be up to an employer. I myself and my kids are all vaccinated. Many are profit generator's however others have helped irradicate certain viruses in this part if the world like polio. Proving they can be very effective. But not all of them are and these every single year ones are the ones I don't want to be forced to get. I also vaccinate pups. Not sure where you read I'm anti vaccination? I definitely vaccinate pups because I have dogs coming and going here all year round. I just don't over do it like the vets would like you to do so they can pay for their new neon sign. I basically follow Dr Gene Dodds protocol on vaccination.

The following vaccine protocol is offered for those dogs where minimal vaccinations are advisable or desirable. The schedule is one I recommend and should not be interpreted to mean that other protocols recommended by a veterinarian would be less satisfactory. It’s a matter of professional judgment and choice.

    9 - 10 weeks of age
    Distemper + Parvovirus, MLV
e.g. Merck Nobivac (Intervet Progard) Puppy DPV

    14 – 15 weeks of age
    Distemper + Parvovirus, MLV

    18 weeks of age
    Parvovirus only, MLV
Note: New research states that last puppy parvovirus vaccine should be at 18 weeks old.

20 weeks or older, if allowable by law
Rabies – give 3-4 weeks apart from other vaccines
    Mercury-free (thimerosol-free, TF)

    1 year old
    Distemper + Parvovirus, MLV
This is an optional booster or titer. If the client intends not to booster after this optional booster or intends to retest titers in another three years, this optional booster at puberty is wise.

    1 year old
Rabies – give 3-4 weeks apart from other vaccines
3-year product if allowable by law; mercury-free (TF)

Perform vaccine antibody titers for distemper and parvovirus every three years thereafter, or more often, if desired. Vaccinate for rabies virus according to the law, except where circumstances indicate that a written waiver needs to be obtained from the primary care veterinarian. In that case, a rabies antibody titer can also be performed to accompany the waiver request. Visit The Rabies Challenge Fundfor more information.

I don't follow it to the letter as I start vaccination at 8 weeks because a few will start leaving to go elsewhere around that time. It ensures me that they will at least get one vaccination before leaving here to get put on someone else's yard that may or may not vaccinate.

Sorry if I was misleading. I didn't mean to portray you as 'anti vaccine' at all. Just was wondering the thought process behind vaccinating the pups but not yourself or kids. Just trying to understand is all. I thought about not vaccinating these recent pups, even though I have always done so in the past, because I knew nobody would be coming to the property and the pups wouldn't be leaving. I have given 2 rounds already and plan to do the 3rd in a week but I was considering not doing any of them. Not because of financial reasons but just because I felt they were unnecessary. Was just curious what your reasoning was as for why you did it for pups but not yourself or kids. Nothing more, amigo.

Lol gotcha, I figured there was just a miscommunication somewhere. Being a health care worker I would never tell someone not to vaccinate their kids against polio, MMR etc. These have been pretty much wiped out here in the states because of our vaccination protocals and the effectiveness of the vacines. We have clusters of measles poping up now because people are starting to go against vaccination. While vaccination don't mean your 100% not going to catch it, it makes it much less life threatening if you do contract something while having been exposed to the LMV before.

The same can be a said for antibiotics and how the antibiotic resistant super bugs have come into play. Drs would see a person and instead if trying to pin point the issue and treat it, they throw antibiotics at you instead, more as a shot gun type approach to medicine. People start feeling better therefore not finishing the cycle of anibiotics and bam, super bugs have been created as a result that our normal antibiotics do not kill. It's the over use of them that has helped create pathogens that are now not affected by our typical way we would treat them.

I have always followed the first year protocol for all my dogs.I would give yearly shots myself, until I did some research and realized they didnt need them it was more of a money making scheme by vets.A couple of years ago I gave one of my dogs,a healthy 6yr old male a booster, shortly after that my dog started showing signs like coughing and weezing.I take the dog to the Vet and she tells me shes not sure what he has but they think its Distemper,I was shocked!....I told the vet I Vaccinate every year and asked, is there any possibility I was the one who infected him with the shot? The Vet said only if his immune system was compromised...they were in the process of heavy antiobiotics and fluids intravenously when he died of a heart attack.I have never before had something like that happen before or since giving yearly boosters,I will never do it again

I vaccinate pups due to feral cats which almost always have something, plus if they catch a critter, out here or what ever.. I once brought in 3 catahoulas to replace my aging hog pack, all 3 of them sumbitches died of parvo.. Albeit in the same area however, after burning ground & disposal of carcasses I hold the fear.. Its been about 4 years or so..
