The Stu Fowler dogs in mexico seem to be very seasoned and carried that blood well...
some of the older blood here and I believe the Callejas brothers to carry the blood strong in old mexico...

New Mexico also had some fine E.Crenshaw dogs not long ago and the blood is spread out now but still a bit evasive...

Out of the breeding legends of that era,,,
My choice would have been Ed Crenshaws blood as I really like it and his character also...
Carver knew how important those DIME dogs were and utilized the blood every time he got a chance he got to cross it to those DIDO dogs...
The Stu Fowler ex Red Lady was one of the best breedings in my opinon...

And the Granger fellow really seemed to get the bulk of that old blood...

I agree with your opinion. Ed Crenshaw was one of the best there ever was. The man knew how to breed great dogs. He also was a great conditioner of his hounds. I read his keep, and I quote him on this statement, He said he only knew of 3 men that were capible of doing his keep . He was connected, and respected, A llot of the other great dogmen worked with him. In my honest opinion, J.P. Colby was the Best there ever was. It was a different world back then. I have respect for all of the old timers that put everything in to this world's greatest breed. We are in a new error of science now, but the gifted men of the past , laid the foundation for us to have such great bulldogs. Them old boys had it a whole lot rougher back then too. They couldn't run and buy a bag of taste of the wild, ect. Corvino, Lightner, Henry, Tudor, ect certainly all were great dog men.

When looking for Colby dogs that acually fit the old phenotype,,,
it seems that those dogs steve bred,,,
whether you call them "white dogs",,," bullshit blood" or "gonner alien dogs"
one thing is for sure,,, they diffently fit that old colby/crenshaw look down to the white and patch works...

Very good research ! Love those old and newer hounds. Cotton Bullet is one of my all time favorites. Alot of proven winning hounds that made the grade in and out of the pit.

There are still A couple one in particular line bred on some solid E. Crenshaw and Eli jr. IF that's IF you can breed to there stud they have to REALLY like your gyp, or to get A pup they have to know you WELL! There stud was/is A total package and already produced some damn fine pets! Things have got tuff they had to move there small yard three times the last two years! Now it's just one or two dogs to A house! Times are tuff out west!

  18. Did the Stu Fowler dog duck Ch Hitler?
Elias, i know you are high on the Black Lady dog but what about dogs down from Tony, Diane, Tuffy, Baby and Shivar's Leo as a source of Bullet blood?
I know of a gyp down from these dogs (approx. 30x Bullet) and Eli Jr stuff. I would not consider her a Crenshaw or bullet dog but what do i know.
