Ha-ha there is post on here somewhere about a dog who would drink beer and hang out with dogs, but who was well-respected in the box.

Imo, it lacks class to talk down another's hard work. Tex Mex hounds have made a very solid name for the there selfs. In and out of the show. I have respect for them.

A lot of the heavy bred dogs on the old E. Crenshaw based blood have this phenotype. Eli Shadow threw many with this type of body, but as they say the proof is in the pudding. The ones who are knocking a bulldog for looks are not real doggers. When you start breeding based on looks you've already failed. Give me one of these any time. Pretty is as pretty does!

AMEN!!! In fact Hotdogs dam was A granddaughter to E. Crenshaws Buck she was 12 or 13 when she had that litter!!! Line bred of some great old Himphill stuff. She was bred to A Snow X Lucynester stud! Just real firecrackers!!! I have over the years seen some REAL punishing pit dogs with long bodies! I'm trying to think of one gyp E. Morfin had that I saw go years ago in San Antonio, she looked like cracking A whip she knew how to work that long body!

He died in the box heart attack? Damn all my old friends are just about gone! I'm training A young man now for when I cant do it anymore! Wish I could do it all over again! LOL

I can say as european, that the texmex dogs are very very good game dogs!!
And as all family will have, you will find good and you will find bad ones.
But the % of wins dont lie for the texmex dogs, they are one of my personal favorite familys around here in EU.

The Allen you are thinking of is not Ken Allen ,Trot. All I ever heard him referred to was as old man Allen. He lived around Houston and owned the old Carvers Queen gyp, I think she was out of one-eyed Missy. He also had the Lobo dog off Ironhead and some other good ones. Corn told me he had some serious dogo's. Lol

That's him Old man Allen! From Houston! I went to A couple of his races, I'd take all the action I could get! It was tough getting A bet down unless they were not from The area! I didn't know him on A personal level. George, Chicken Sam, Bobby and B. Hall knew him best! They just told me get every cent you can down work the crowed, there should be somebody out there not from Houston! LOL

    Two differnt Allens,,,
Mr Ken Allen was on top of the game as one of the best when he had a heart attack in the box and passed....
What a way to go,,, doing something you have such a deep passion for,,, and just like the A Team,,,
    you cant beat that either!!!

Another good dogman was killed conditioning a dog when he was a victim of the hit and run,,,
Too bad Mr Bancroft and his charge never made it to the box,,, but than agian atleast he went out working one...

Both Mr.Bancroft and Mr.Allen made a huge impact on the game and hosted some of the best shows ever put on....
Rest in Peace to all the good dogmen that died doing what they love...

A good dogman in the Southern African region collapsed while handling in the square recently with a heart attack. He was rushed to hospital but didnt make it. Only can speak well of him as a man inside and outside the square. RIP Payday Knl.
Sadly the opponents showed no interest in his well being for when he collapsed clutching his chest they were more concerned with persuing the contest and eventually claimed the win.

Its seems the action gets their hearts really going,,, I know mr allen was a very big man and Im sure that contributed to his heart attack,,,
Was the man you speak of also a big fellow???

Never the less,,, to bad there wasnt more human compassion towards him and I am sure it was dramatic,,,
hopefully he went doing what he enjoyed and we can all admire that,,, rip payday from s.africa...
