While you can train them is genetic, you get what you're born with. A person is either explosive or he isn't and it's no different for dogs. You can't turn Jeff Gordon into Michael Jordan. A lot of false information in this article.

You can't make Michael Jordan into Jeff Gordon but if you put him into the very best race cars on the planet, give him time to practice and perform, give him a great support system and then let his natural competitiveness take over....Michael Jordan will be come a much better race car driver. Vice-versa will be true as well. Will either ever be the other? No, not at all.

Dogs no different. All the fast twitch exercises in the world will not change a big ol' galoot from being a big ol' galoot. But in time, if exercised properly, fed properly and most of all rested properly he will be a more agile and athletic big ol' galoot.

That was the point of the article. The average every day game dog possesses both of these attributes and in a competitive world he will need both. The article simply touched on a couple of ways to give due attention to both.

It didn't re-write the canine performance world, but at the same time it was not intending to do so. It touched on a couple of things and should make one think and then find some more information.
