The deal with alot of young people is they dont consider building something thats energy efficient.I put the extra money in effiency instead of space. And in the long run it pays for itself and I am as comfortable as I want without going broke..As hot is it is down here I never had a bill over 80 bucks. And I keep my house at 70 degrees.

I agree with you about most younger folks being that way, although I wouldn't consider myself one of them. I haven't bought a house yet so I'd just be fixing up someone elses property up to this point but I do plan on getting my own house in the next few years (not even sure where I'm going to settle down yet) so I plan on making it as energy efficient as I can when the time comes. Never a bill over 80? WOW! That's a bill I'd look forward to every month! I do know the rate we pay is a high rate but we have no other options for power where we're at now (city supplies power).

And public property records says this house is 768 sq ft so I've got a real small house and keep mine at 70 as well. Just terrible insulation.

We average about $60 during the summer and $130 in the winter for our energy bill. It's changed a little since we had a child and need a more constant climate. Our gas runs $60/mo.

lol I'm jealous. Mine rarely come out the house. only to eat, drink, piss or shit. I've decided I'm going to do a well thought out kennel set up in my basement because I hate going out every 3 hours to chip ice and really hate going outside to hang out with them for a few hours every day. I ain't built for cold weather, even though I've lived here my whole life. Lmao, if it's below 72 degrees, I'm cold. It won't be finished this year though, I got a lot of other issues going on to worry about right now and I can still bring them in and crate and rotate if it drops too low but with 7 dogs here, right now as it is, it's more work than I want to do.

The last few colder days have been a wake up call to my young pup for sure. Like bama, mine are soaking up the sun from the minute it comes up. The pup will sit there and watch it rise and when it starts setting in the evening she'll keep moving back when the shade gets to her area. She'll get used to it but she sure don't like it.

  12. 46 c hi here today and sunny 39 lo, i am going to wear one glove tomorrow cos the forecaster said it will be warm but on the other hand it might be cold,

I planted pine trees on my North and West boundaries of my yard..Dont plant any on the East because thats where the Sun comes up and starts warming everything. And I didnt plant any on the South side because if we get any breeze at all in the summer it mostly comes off the gulf of mexico and we get some breeze from the east to.But i planted the trees on the north side to block that cold north wind off the dogs. And planted the ones on the west side to block the hot evening sun..So yea wound up just planting pines on the north and west side boundaries of my yard for better weather protection for the dogs.It dam sure has helped. It gets hot in the morning to in the summer but no trees on the east side boundary because I want that sun on the dogs in the winter. So what I did was build some shade houses and that solves the hot morning sun in the summer time.I put alot of thought into things and its worked out good.I dont know if thier is a perfect setup mine isnt but I have dam sure put some money and time into it.

That's the way to do things, do em right the first time. I'm a thinker myself so I don't mind putting extra thought and planning into things when I know they'll turn out better because of it.

Lol... this guy. I always thought the perfect temperature would be 65-70. Perfect for jeans and tshirt but you won't sweat toob much and you won't get cold.

Lol My perfect climate would be a place where its low humidity and the temp is 80-90° during the day and 60-70 during the night year round.
