    Hello everyone,
I'd love to help out with SA sbt's but I'm trying to find out more as well.

    Hi FD
    Thanks for reply.
I am planning to do obedience, agility and tracking with my sbt. Do you know what the Sylon breeder had in mind? I found a YouTube with Sylon Bruce who is a son of Leo, training for conformation. Thats about all I could dig up sofar.

I don't know their characteristics (Sylon) except that they win a lot in conformation and some of their dogs are very DA.

We are based in SA and have been involved in staffords since they first came into the country. In 96' we imported a staff from england and then got out of the dogs in 2003. As my interest in the pits developed my father and I started to get into the staff's again as well. We imported a male from the UK that qualified for crufts. He landed yesterday and we are very happy with him. As far as the staff's in this coutry go they vary largely. If you're looking for the working form of these dogs I dont know if you'll find them here unless you look into guys on farms that do back yard breeding etc but if you looking for nice show dogs I reckon SA has some good stuff to offer. We havent attended any shows yet but are hoping to do some good things with this new male. Here is a good place to start regarding the dogs in sa http://www.psbtc.co.za/breederslist.html

    Hello everyone,

I have breeding SA Stafford for 10 years and from various lines (Chassuki, Richmax, Sylon, Zestra, and Ringmaster). They are of variable quality bulldog: they are both good balanced type dogs or too large and massive. Their character is "medium" with good predatory instincts, but their game was lost in almost all cases. After years of "trying" I've dropped them all and now I only breeding Old Time Staffordshire by working online.

    Best regards

I have seen both Leo and Bruce, Leo is in SA and Bruce is in the US, I much prefer Bruce, Leo is shorter and wider.

When the picture of Bruce was taken he was owned by Daniel Hardin, he is now owned by Johnny Miller, saw him early last year at a show and he was in much better condition that 99% of US show dogs.

It's all very much appreciated. Whether good or bad.

I'm not sure what you would call bad, like I said I prefer Bruce and as far as DA goes to me that's a good point, i'm from England but live in the US and i'm not sure why but most people that show Staffords in the US want them to be a fat lap dog and think they are 'cute'. Whether you like show dogs or not Stafford owners in the UK don't like people intentionally breeding dog's that don't have a typical temperament and yes even though it is a 'beauty contest' most still put health and a correct temperament ie. love people, hate dogs, before looks.
