Do you neuter your dogs?

i understand you very well, offcorse we all know that there are many irresponsable people,
in my country apbt are considered mutts and killed..that is lame

Banning a breed or race doesnt work. Has it ever worked in history? You dont think people that now have pitbulls without pedigrees will be stopped by killing all the 'mutts' all. They will keep going with other breeds with or without pedigree or linage. The best way to limit dogs biting people stories is by letting the the owner take responsability and punishment if needed. You dont hurt people that dont care about their dog by putting their dog down; they just get another...

 

Dont be selfish and only think of your dogs or your breed! Think of what causes it dont solely focus on the result. That would be superficial..

 

I've seen neutered dogs of all breeds and I understand some do it to stop them roaming after bitches or to make them less aggressive etc, the bottom line is apart from stopping them producing pups neutering is a disaster, every neutered dog will become overweight unless you practically starve it and walk the legs off it.
So the question here should be, what are the negative effects of chopping the balls of your dog, and what does it mean for me if i Don't?
The only thing keeping his balls where they are will cause you is he COULD possibly impregnate a female if he happens to find one in heat and unless your the type who lets your dog run outside alone, you'll never have that problem.
But the negative side is chopping his stones off are > a less active and fat porker, a shadow of the former dog you had while his crown jewels still dangled behind him.
I've seen fat doberman's because they were neutered, "when have you ever seen a doberman fat"?
just yesterday i met a man with a west highland white terrier, another fat mess, and he told me only since he got neutered (the man) not the dog, I just wish the dog could have told me what he felt?
So keep your dog properly, do not allow him to roam alone and don't chop his balls off.

I dont know about how it hurts them, Ive had a few fixed We had a litter by mistake to a half staff half good bred bitch She her self should have been fixed I cant even remember why we had her But she got bred some how got loose and got hooked up to a friggin beast of a toro bred dog, At the time I was real close to a vet Fam, they fixed all those pups for me at cost, like nothin , and those dogs turned out to be some damn fine yard mutts They looked real good my vet friend trimed them up and everything , We gave all my buddys one that wanted a petbull. it was a good deal we had them fixed also , I know for a fact them would have been bred to good working stock and that shit would be in our dogs to day. But them dogs didnt seem any differant than pups that were not fixed they played and grew and were just like the other pups.

 

I agree with the majority of what you said, "but" not all dogs in a shelter are mutts or end up there because of running the street, Many come from owners who have passed away or become to ill to look after the dog so it's there in the hope somone else might give it a home, many end up there because of owners changing jobs and locations and can no longer keep the dog or couples divorcing etc etc, there's many reasons a good dog's situation changes and it's often a sudden change with no time to advertise and sell or find a home for the dog.
So while I agree with some of what you said you must realise what i've just said makes perfect sense also?
Although I have to agree some breed and cross breed Pitbulls to God knows what and produce unstable nasty animals which result in getting Pitbulls a very bad reputation which we all know isn't a true reflection of the breed at all.

 

That has been my impression as well. A friend of mine neutered his French/English Bulldog cross at the age of 12 months - the dog looks like a shell of his formal self, his muscle tone is gone, he's all mopy... It's my friends wife that did it, the bitch.

 

I've never seen a neutered dog that wasn't affected for the worst after it was done, some will argue it makes no difference but when you see a doberman as fat as a house because he's been chopped it speaks for itself, i recently met a guy with a black lab also, he was throwing a ball up a bank for the dog to chase, as i passed him i said "thats one way of keeping him fit" & he replied " I can't keep the wait off him since I got him neutered"
and it doesent stop dog aggression, thats B/S some dogs are dog aggressive neutered or not, the only reason the pro neuter people try to convince everyone to do it is reduce unwanted pups but if you keep your dog right he should never be out alone to produce any?

 

nope. never have and probably never will. if they aint worth breeding, and live as a house pet, its real simple...
keep em away from the bitches.
