Bill claimed he bought 35 at a flea market. He didn't look like an Art dog. All I know I asked for him twice and each time he was retired after 5th & 6th he spot picked.

I tried to tell you all before what Robert Corn who owned Ch. Toro and he knew where Gr. Ch. Art and Ch. Toro was on the same yard.
He told me to go over to Jim Stinson or King Glover's house and you see them there.
I asked why they took them and he said Art was over the terms of the deal when he was sold. He never said why on Toro.

Gr. Ch. Art was an older dog when he was stolen. So when you hear rumors of people who claimed this person or that person took him it isn't so because they weren't around. Or Art sired this dog or that dog after he was stolen. All bullshit. He went right back to Texas.
As Bobby Lemm wrote in SDJ, no dog ever left Texas with the right papers.
Both my brother and I have sat there in Texas heard well known dogmen laugh about papers deals on pups and dogs sent from them to others else where.

No doubt 'street justice' has its place, so I guess that answers the question furthermore for those of us interested....thanks.

As far as the attitude of these Texan dogmen with regard to the falsifying papers, what are your insights behind their reasoning for doing it?

Finally, if the 35 had of gone down, would it of been an encounter of Champions?

Why, don't know. People there are different. I think why is they were once a country and their state motto is "Everything is bigger and better in Texas."

35 maybe, surely would have been winners...:)

Corn is a straight shooter, and good people in my book. I heard him say the same on several occasions, and believe it to be true. I went by his old place about a year ago because no one had seen him at the local dinner, and seen that he had picked up and moved.... If any of you ever get the opportunity to sit down with him... ask him about Twelve Gauge and watch his eyes.

On this forum I posted a picture myself, Floyd and Robert. I'll check and see if I can find it.
Robert use to work the Trades with my father and they bred some dogs together.
I know they bred Apache ( Ch. Iron Bear & Ch. Iron Bobcat sister) to a son of Ch. Toro.

Here it is. He is on the far right next to me.

:) Sorry about that patjr. lol

But you'll have to get the story from the man himself.... It isn't mine to tell. I will say this..... that he was... in Bobby's opinion... at least as good as any he ever saw.. and he saw and went into dogs we still talk about today. I will also say that he was stolen by a guy who's name has been mentioned here. Corn isn't and hasn't ever been a guy most would want to cross..... even as an old man he is strong as an ox, and loves a fight as much as any bulldog. The guy who took Twelve Gauge knew this, but was high enough up the food chain to know that he could take the dog if he wanted to. He offered to buy him first..... and when that didn't work he stole him. :) I always wondered what became of that dog and the dogs down from him. He surely ended up with another name.

OBTW I never did watch much t.v..... but I sure am old enough to remember that old soap opera.lol

Thanks.... I saw that old pic and it brought back memories. I worked as an Iron Worker and later as a Lineman, but I'm about twenty years younger than BC. He always spoke highly of your families dogs..... We bred some dogs together and went to some shows together way back when. I even went to county court with him to help him recover some of his dogs when he had his trouble. The old judge was pretty cool in my opinion the first go-round but Bobby didn't see it that way. I wish I had some of that old Maximillian blood up close on my yard.... I have Red Devil way back coming from the Morfin Rumba dog, and wish I could have seen how it blended in this way. http://www.apbt.online-pedigrees.com/public/printPedigree.php?dog_id=207604. I remember seeing where the Maximillion was crossed with some heavy Boze.

Thanks BLUE8BULL smarter people than I'll ever be discovered it worked well, especially with Stu Fowler stuff. Getting back to the topic.... It's only people who want to find truth in these conspiracy type deals that do.... the truth here with regard to Art is a simple one, and Iron Mike is dead on with what he says. The old heads from around here knew full well what became of the dog and papers never meant much to anyone but people that wanted independent proof that they owned a piece of history more than they ever wanted to make history themselves.

People that wanted independent proof that they owned a piece of history more than they ever wanted to make history themselves. That is a classic in my book and very true. Very nice saying JayW.

JayW that must be a very old pedigree because Al Offer's Tuffy 2xw was the dog matched into Corvino's Teddy in late 1963 and was reported in Jan/Feb issue of 1964 Your Friend & Mine. Both dogs died afterwards, this also was reported in there.
Tuffy was a littermate to Creed's Duke (no not Red Devil's father Iron Duke but his son) and Creed's Blondy who was the sire and dam of Indian's Venus, Dam of Boudreaux' Scooter 2xw.
Tuffy, Duke and Blondy was off Red Devil and Iron Queen.

we covet what we see every day. And as with most thefts,.....dog thefts are often commited by folks we live near, are close to us,....or know more about us than they should. So dam true. It will break your heart when u find out ,if u ever do. But its not an enemy because u would never get that close. VERY GOOD INFORMATION
