Who stole gr. Ch. Art?

In the early days steeling dogs happened a lot more than one would like to think. some names like Earl Tudor, Leo Kinard, and Maurice Carver. I would not say emphaticly that I know this information, but I have talked at length to some of the OLD timers and have heard the stories that were told to me. Keep in mind that some of this knowledge is common, and some still hidden, and second hand info. My information is all second hand.
With regard to Gr. Ch. Art the guy that did that deed was a friend of mine and I am afraid to out him here. Maybe someday I will tell the story when he passes away, that is if I out live him. The other interesting story of a dog that was stolen was "PIT General" and I was told from a very reliable source that Doug Nirider aka" The Nightrider" did that deed.........Doug Nirider was as underhanded a guy as you could ever meet. He was always on the prowl for an easy spot, he set up more matches, lied through his teeth, and was generally a very undesireable guy. I will say however, that he did fight a lot of dogs, and when he came with honesty (which was very rare) he came with a good one and was very hard too beat.....PS

 

I'm sure ya know ps,that dog thieves/rustlers,,were all-ways part+package of these dog's,,unfortuneally...never done it my-self,,but have been tempted to take dog's off some people that should never have kid's never mind dog's.......?????

 

I couldn't care less who stole art as he wasn't my dog. If he was mine it would have been a different story, what does interest me is why he was stolen? And how many dogs bred from him since he was stolen are still being used in hunts that's bred down from him/sons/daughters?
Also, how successful was the offspring after he got stolen, since he made ROM before he got stolen with only a handful of breedings that were done?

 

PS did art live long after he was stolen and what happened if not?

 

That I don't know. I only know who it was that stole him, straight from his own words. A person that was not given to making up stories. PS

 

From what I was told no, the dude lost him in a OTC trying to show off after a few bumps he already did.. Fuck the POS thief and all the rest of the thieves that do that shit.

 

Don't get me wrong R&R, I share your sentiments as I hate thieves. As I said if it was my dog it woyld have been a different story.
Anyway, I am more concerned with what he produced after he got stolen as he was a ROM dog with very little matings I am made to believe.
So there will obviously be dogs walking around with different peds yet bred down from Art.

 

I think you mean the thief used him in more than one OTC in a row, leading to the death of the dog - right? If so, what a waste of a great dog.

 

Ok, No that is a BS story. Gr. Ch. Art went right back to where he came from. They claimed when they sold him the deal was he was not to be at public stud or pups being peddled off him.


As for Boomerang, well there were only 2 people in the history who put call outs in SDJ. One was James Crenshaw and the other is YKW....
James called Barker out with a bunch of friends and dogs. Barker wouldn't bring a dog into them.


As for Art, well.....I watch him kill and start eating a dog. Boomerang wasn't that type of dog.
Would of, could of, of the past is a waste of time debating.
