My point is don't count a dog out simply due to age. Some have what it takes early on, some not till much much later and others not at all.

Saying there's no way to tell you've got a bulldog before 24mths is false. The length of time you sit on one depends on both the dog and the dogman.

I'm not urging people to do anything. I just answered the question.
You are right. I should have said that there is no way for ME to know what YOU will get when YOU breed YOUR two dogs together. I have NOT been feeding those dogs for years so it would just be me talking. There is more to breeding than getting two dogs tied and them having puppies.

I think you just like to argue lmao. I agree with every damn thing you posted. You may not be urgeing folks to do anything but it is clear that you are of the opinion it is better to wait on a dog hence the quotes about "most dogs being shown after 24 moths" and to 'not expect mutch from pups" I dont know youre time in these dogs but from all youre stressing of you are "going off what you seen and not herd/read" that you have ben at this a minite. Im guessing you probobly have a bit more experiance than myself. That does not mean that im simply going of what I was told/read. I have seen some in my time just not as mutch as others. Some have seen it all and cant get shit right with 20 years pluss in the dogs. This is what I wanna know.Where in my post did I type anything where I said you should expect anything out of a puppy other than being a damn pup. I was stressing quite the opposite. I was saying its safer just to wait on the dogs to fully mature. I realy am clueless why you felt the need to disect my post and even more confused as to where we dissagree?

  17. IMO, not in this arugement but allowing a dog to mature will prove to be more valuable than ever rushing one in my yard. Dogs should play and develop to at least 18 months, yes there has been younger and there has been much older but the mental side of these dogs suggest 18 months at least. Just because they can go does mean you should let them, be patience.

Far as breeding, yes there can be a handful of half bro / sis that have worked but if you compare what has went on to be something special not many people can say this or better yet prove it whereas other styles of inbreeding like father/daughter have been proved successful and many times not that brew stock crap, real working dogs have come from it. I think half brother / sister breedings can work but I also think some lines blend better than others when they are this heavy inbred. Lines like Bolio and Redboy and some Jeep lines have proven the tightest that the line will allow with inbreedings where other lines like #%#%#%# (no going to say it, i don't feel like an arguement) will not allow it so tight. Far as a working dogs I think there is other ways to be more successful with them and breeding.

these dogs don't come with built in timers. they will tell you when there ready in there own time. personaly i'd take a good 4 year old over a good 2 year old. on the flip side a younger dog will have less miles then a older dog in most cases..............can't comment on the OP because it's ridiculous.

some of the different silly discussions on this thread (too young, what %) go to further prove the man behind the dogs makes all the difference. that is the constant in the equation, the one thing that isnt gonna change from litter to litter. a man and his knowledge
