no offence man i dont mean to bash on you but thats what people said in Queensland... all it takes is one peped up news report and a few politicians tryna gain some popularity and bam breed specific legislations and whos gunna argue with em bout it ?? no one will becouse every one else will just follow the trend and hate on bulldogs and if you come fourth as an owner trying to fight it youll just make your self a target PROBLEM REACTION SOLUTION simple yet affective ive come across some very interesting theories about why theye wanna get rid of our dogs just makes me wanna preserve em even more

 

there are still good dogs around from good stock you just have to do your homework.
anybody with any decent stock wont part with anydog to an unkown person and if they do they are simply peddlers. i have seen so many morons recently advertising pups even on facebook through their "kennel" name when the kennel consists of an unpapered rednose male and female selling pups via a social networking site? peddlers.

personaly if i am going to purchase a dog from someone i want to develop a bit of a friendship with them first before buying dogs even comes up, i would expect the same from them. Any pleb whos happy to sell me a pup without even having spoke to me numerous times or at least met a few times is a peddler.
at least that way you know the man and with anyluck have seen the dogs they have come from before the tie is even made.

i agree with junkyard.. but many a good dogman will offer quality dogs to the public when hard times have fallen upon him i bloke i know sold his best dog to keep his house but luckily for him he was able to purchase the dog back... but yes unfortunatly many by fools flood the country with these inferior dogs..

 

Very true.Good stock is impossible to find in a newspaper add.Any descent stock will be given to people known to the breeder.Newspaper add dogs are usually just backyarders trying to make a quick $$ to some noob that has no idea.As for papers there are also paper hangers out there that hand write their peds and get people to beleive they have a certain bloodline when all they have is either a dead cur or a staffy passed off as a APBT.

At no stage did I ask to buy or be sold a pup, I simply asked where he was and what bloodline (he is trying to "peddle"). Some of us apply subtlety as a method to extract information from silly posts, maybe you should try it sometime?

FYI I'm not a wanna be gangsta dogger (dogman), in fact I despise people who "work" their dogs even though I understand the need for it (ie. to keep the dog true to its breed). Therefore I also understand why BYB's are a problem, hence the topic of the original post. It is a catch 22 for this breed, however the APBT has many other traits which make it very desirable to own and the history of the breed is absolutely fascinating (maybe you should read some of that too?).

Don't let the low post count fool you into believing I'm a "noob" and or know nothing. You know nothing about me (except that I claim to be from the ACT). Maybe I already have a gamebread APBT? You'll never know that either.
