I don’t look to insult any one but for my belief APBT dogs that weigh
35 to 50 pounds are closer to the true type, I meet some people
Who have a PB and I ask how much does it weigh many proudly say 100 pounds 90 75 once I hear that, I figure a touch of mastiff in there. Nice looking dogs, But!! So what is the real weight of a PB and if they go above a certain weight is it questionable and not APBT
The next question do 80 plus LBS ever produce the lower weight dogs more true to type any way?

sadly enuff yes, but there is always a questionable feature we can recognize, but they are scatterbred so, some would hide better than others out of the same family

  3. The APBT is not determined by its weight, color, size or looks. The APBT is determined exclusively by genetics and function.

:goodposting:Thats like saying that Mayday wasnt a good representation of the breed. However, i live in a neighbor full of people who just brag about how much their dogs weigh. And they wonder why i would let them breed to any of my dogs. One guy behind me was given a nigerino bitch and bred it a big blue down the street. He wants the pups to come out big and blue. But whatever, thats them i guess

no no no, you cant trust what papers say, most of the time they are hung, when these dogs came over from europe thats not what they looked like

Hell yea. You asked what the REAL weight of a REAL apbt is. For REAL dogmen the size/colour/look of an apbt is just the bi product of the quest to make a truley game bulldog, hence the differences in looks between todays bloodlines. Like gringo said when he nailed it on the head. It goes without saying that many people prefer smaller bulldogs for various reasons like handling, wind etc but thats another can of worms to open up. t

Hey, I'll take a 100 LBS bulldog if you got one! but nobody does, and if they did it would look like arnold in his fkn prime! Lookin like the terminator and shit, not a bully. He would be a mthrfkr to handle, but i wouldnt turn him down lol

man ole man, here we go,thats just the thing a true bred apbt will never get that big, theyd over heat, their teeth will get ripped out, they wouldnt be able to hang on, they would lose speed, bigger isnt better, just bigger and all those dam ignorant fux think wow look how cool and big this thing is fawk that dumb shit, get another breed or make u some mutts, dont call them an american pit bull terrier though

cane corso or mastiffs i guess are pretty much what one would be after, my lil doggies still steal my heart though because of the amount of heart and courage they have

I recently had a girl question me of the "purity" of my dogs breed because she has a "jeep bloodline apbt" that's as big as an ambully..

talked to another member via PM that knows the kennel and they seem to be rather scatterbred from the ped I saw and they produce about anything from small to large lol... so I don't really know, but I do think there is a certain limit to where it isn't an apbt to me, even if the papers say so. and that dog is NO apbt in my eyes

someone said that weight doesn't really say what breed it is, but how can a 80 lbs apbt function as well as a 30-50 lbs one? it's just not possible, look at the amstaff! they are close to that weight (at least, around here) they can't do half of what an apbt could do...

so yes, to me, there IS a certain weight limit to which I will gladly say "sorry, but that to ME is not an apbt, his papers may say so, but his looks and level of performance tell me otherwise, which is the most important anyways"

  17. Personally, the ideal pitweight for me is from 30-40lbs. I am located in a tropical country and the thermometer hits a stagerring 43 degrees celcius in a hot humid afternoon. I've seen a couple of 50pounder in a recent convention here and it's not an exciting match to watch, they seem slower and ran out of air faster than the lighter weighing matchdogs that night. Other issues are, larger dogs eat more food, produce more refuse, more difficult to train and handle. Mayday is a different case, that's why he's special. There are very small number of great dogs in mayday's weigh division that can match his caliber or even 75% of it..

Island born dogs here in my country weighs around 25-40 pounds when they grow up and I think that the climate has to do something about it affecting their growth, another possible cause is the linebreeding that was utilized with the few bloodliones that was infused over and over within the last couple of decades. It's a good thing there are several Filipinos that are importing dogs to infuse with the existing bloodlines here.

Weigh matters depending on the dogs purpose. I don't admire Bullies or the showtype apbts but I am not in the position to downgrade another man's dog. "To each his own."

just cause a pit may weigh 90lbs doesnt mean that it has mastiff in them at all.... they are the same as any liveing thing.not every person is the same size or color or weight but they are still people right. and the whole thing with 35 to 50lbs pits , that goes back to the pit fighting days when the more agile pit seemed to come out on top most of the time, then there was steroids.....:(

my pit is 88lbs and 9yrs old, he can run on a dirt road 40klm/hr for the first .5klm. then he falls back to 35klm/hr (STEADY) for the next 1klm. in total he runs 1.5klm behind my truck. he does this once a week. What hippo will do that?...... will yours?
