Sorry If I put this in the wrong section....This rough play by my 5month old pup is getting more frequent. When my female runs, my make up will rough house with her(bite her on the neck) They spend there days together in my backyard..This happens a little in the yard but mostly when I take them out and the female plays in the water. Should I be stopping this or let the pup be a pup..

let the pup be a pup there is nothing abnormal there the female will put it in its place if it crosses the line

Well eventually your more than likely going to have to keep them separated, But right now they are just playing. Things often sound worse than they are with these dogs and to folks who haven't had them long they think it is something horrible. These dogs do everything with that 110% attitude and that also transfers to playing.

With that said though you are still going to have to watch them, Things can turn sour fast and you can wined up with injured or dead dogs on your hands if you don't keep vigilant with your dogs.

Nothing in that video shows any real rough play... ive had and still have dogs that are not bulldogs or dog aggressive in any way shape or form play rougher than this as adults and pups. Nothing here shows signs that action needs to be taken or that there will be problems in the future. They are just playing, nothing more than that. Sometimes you will need to let them know when to stop though... I got an amstaff and a boxer at family's house that get a little rough over time if you dont stop them. They'll play all day, rip the yard up, bite eachother jump on everything... they are fine though, they sleep together every night lol.

keep an eye out though, u just need to know how to tell the difference between play and serious business, sometimes it can be hard especially if the dogs are enjoying it. But most likely if it gets serious somthing will set the two dogs off and the behavior will change quickly and u will be able to tell they aint fucken around.

  7. They will tell you when they need to be seperated. The pup is just being a pup.
