I read the story posted about the dog. I understand what they did with the dog, and why those in attendance said he was an ace. I didn't see him work so I should have just kept my comments to myself. My mistake.

 

im in an agreement with giving a 1xw an ace title is absurb.
How can you gauge that?
Styles Make Fights, and an Ace can Handle any Style Thrown at him and he also needs to Prove it. You cant just go say yea my 1xw is an ace. What if the dog he went into was subpar? Most 1st time outs are easy Then gets Tougher the further out you go.
But somebody Made a great point Those guys have seen more CH and Gr CH on there Land then I ever will and could only dream to be as good as Wildside but it just dont sit well calling a 1xw an Ace.

now everyone has their own idea of what an ace is but if you don't think roy was one then you're a tough critic. He passed school with some very strict teachers

Thats the whole point with the term "ace" its purely opinion although a true ace leaves no doubts. but unless you saw it first hand you have to trust the man thats telling you judgment.

 

If he suvived a tangle with a timberwolf he certainly couldn't be no chump. That's pretty far uphill.

 

Rapid Roy was up in the Albany NY area when I lived there. I would have bred to him if he had the bloodlines I wanted. Good dog from what everyone said.

Realllly???? Some of yall crack me up if Rollbar said he was an ace lol then he was an ace. Those that know know those that dont should be quiet. Oh and by the way Bolio was an ace 1xw got best in show in a 10 dog convention and got best in show with Gr.Ch. Boomerang goin that day also. Stone city kennels Jedi(1xw) was considered an ace also he beat a 4xw his only time out died before number 2. And i'm sure there are more examples so yall might not believe a 1xw is ever considered an ace but i'm also dam sure yall wouldnt know an ace if it jumped up and bit u in the ass.

 

i know im messing with a dead post but i was just wondering, had no one ever matched a wolf against a pit? i have heard that the wolf will win n so fourth but has anyone ever actually matched the 2?

My understanding was that Roy was attacked by the wolf while on the chain. The wolf did do some damage and thats why Roy never went back out. Thats the story I got anyway...

 

I've never seen it in the rules that wolves have to be washed. Thats only dogs. lol

 

Where im from we had multiple run ins with both wolves and Mackenzie Huskies which are 1/2 or 3/4 wolf x Huskies. Both would run when challanged and a good 50-60 lbs gamedog would beat either one if they had the mouth to do decent damage (they have thick hides and big bones) but the gamedog always took a real head chewing as the wolves instinct is to bite the head down to get away. I will try and have my brother in the Yukon scan some old photo's of the aftermath and email them to me if he can dig them up so I can post them.

Capable of escaping death but never able to deal it out in my experience.
