ive brushed my teeth my whole life been to the dentist every six months and ive still gotten cavities, now if i hadnt been blessed by being born into a family with insurance those cavities would have progressively gotten worse and eventualy rotted out of my mouth, I grew up in a poor town there are so many good hearted hard working people that just never had a chance to progress to anything besides remedial work, those people cant afford a dentist so do they deserve to suffer with rotting...I can answer that Hell NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some meds may be cheaper but Canadians often come here or other countries for their actual treatment because their province told them that they would have to wait many months for treatment or denied completely.

Hells Bells, how can you just ignore all of these facts? You are completely stuck on your opinion and you base that opinion on nothing but what you have heard from these liberals. Nearly everyone here knows that it will be a disaster but you are too selfish to realize that it wont be good for the country. All you care about is the possibility paying less for meds. And it is just that, a possibility. From my research, it seems UNLIKELY.

I posted that link from the Wall Street Journal. Read it. You may learn something.

Also, I must add that even if Canada's system worked, it does not guarantee that it will work here. We are completely different countries with completely different economies, a completely different government, and a completely different population.

Economists are warning of what is going to happen but people are too busy jumping on the bandwagon because they think they will get something free. NOTHING IS FREE

That is your opinion. Life isn't fair. You quoted that we are ENTITLED to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. That isn't true. You aren't entitled to anything. You aren't guaranteed anything. You are only given a chance to make it. You have to do it yourself. It never said you were entitled.

If you want to be entitled to it, go to Great Britain or some other country where they tried to implement this mentality.

Funny, even top politicians in Great Britain have warned Obama about making the same mistake and he won't listen. He is going full force.

yes they are but there are reasons for it,besides solely ass raping everybody

drug companies invest massive amounts of money for the development of new and better drugs...
what they do is have groups of scientists doing experiments and developing chemicals that likely wont have any affect or lead to the development of any drugs but say 1 out of 100 of theese groups develop a drug that ends up on the market they are able to make enough to covver the ecpense of all of the other groups.

is it neccecarily right, maybe not but it is what allows for the production of revolutionary life saving drugs

Same here... I've had 2 teeth pulled already and need my other 3 rotted out wisdom teeth taken out. My dentist office is owned by my dads cousin. They got me in thankfully, and I'm going back in a couple weeks. They haven't even asked me about payment yet. But I went through months of really bad tooth aches because I was worried about affording it. They said if I was anyone else they would have gave me antibiotics and sent me home. I also had a filling fall out and need several teeth filled. My addiction is pop or soda if you call it. I drink too much and it's bad on my teeth.

I am so sick of hearing people talk like they are entitled to getting everything for free. THIS IS NOT A SOCIALIST COUNTRY.

You live in the greatest country in the world because of the free market, capitalism, and our government which was founded on the idea of freedom and liberty.

In one swoop you will lose all of this and it is because everyone has gotten the mentality that they deserve everything for free.

That isn't how it works. Every country that has implemented socialism has failed. We are next. Thanks a bunch.

LIFE IS NOT FAIR. IF YOU DON'T MAKE AS MUCH AS THE NEXT GUY, BUST YOUR ASS UNTIL YOU DO. IF YOU NEVER MAKE IT, YOU TRIED. THAT IS CAPITALISM. THAT IS WHAT MADE THIS COUNTRY WHAT IT IS. IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT, GO TO ONE OF THESE SOCIALIST COUNTRIES WHERE YOU CAN GET EVERYTHING FOR FREE. I GUARANTEE YOU WILL BE BEGGING TO COME BACK.

Pot can trigger psychosis in persons with bipolar disorder. It is not always as harmless as people believe. It is a drug with applications but its abuse has prevented those who could actually benefit from it from being able to have access to it. :(

Our founding fathers would be rolling in their graves if they knew what is going on. This is a shame.

How many people abuse other prescription drugs? Denying sick people medicine because someone else abuses it is bad policy. You could use that same logic to outlaw everything.

People have it too easy in this country. There aren't many places left in the world where you can actually work hard and better yourself. In other countries you will bust your ass and have nothing to show for it.

Did you ever think that maybe if you drank water instead and saved that soda money that you might be able to afford necessities instead of luxurys ? Smoking weed is a luxury and so isn't drinking soda, these are things that you choose to spend money on instead of spending that money in the proper place.....that is the problem, if all these people with thier hands out spent thier money properly and prioritze thier spending then maybe there wouldn't be such a need of wasteful spending of someone elses money.

a person that cant afford great luxuries like nice cars, nice house, able to go nice places, shouldnt be able to small have some small frivoluos luxuries things that raise the quality of life...????
they might not deserve to have a badass car but why couldnt they spend 5 bucks on a case of soda and 10 on a dime of weed...its the little things that make life worth living

Thats all fine by me if you dont have your hand out taking money. Thats where i draw the line. Other than that i could care less what someone spends their money on

That does not guarantee the same economic results for everyone. In no way does that mean that you are to be given things to you because you can't get it yourself at the expense of others.

veterans coming back form war with ptsd etc..etc.. not getting the healthcare they need...
    hmo's
seniors who paid into medicare their whole lives to get shoddy health care
children not getting adequete health care
working men not being able to afford life saving medicines
people with mental disorder instead of spending money to keep them mentally stable we let them fall through the cracks and end up on welfare on crack and bound for prison

there is soooo much wrong with or healthcare system it boggles my mind

It is still fixable. The private sector still exists and has many options to help it recover. However, under the socialized plan, the private sector will no longer exist. All you will have is the socialized plan in which the government decides how and who gets what.

  20. tommy3

And socialization of the system will cause those very same people to wait in line for extended periods of time instead of getting treatment. Or, they can even get rejected completely and just be told that the government's time and money can be spent more wisely on someone else because they are younger and therefore are capable of bringing more money into the government.

I'm sorry, I would take the current situation any day over that. If you wouldn't, you may want to play the scenario in your head a few times.

Treatment of some kind and high priced meds are much better than being denied care altogether because someone is worth more to the government than you.

At least in the current situation, everyone is able to get treatment. It may be at a price but you can get treated.
Under the socialized healthcare, you will have rationing and many will not be able to get health care unless they go outside of the country because they aren't worth the trouble to the government.

Do you really think we can afford this without rationing?

    Once again, read the article.
