Members this should be a reminder to make sure you keep records of your dogs vaccines, I used to be able to keep it all in my head but as you know I'm getting old and the first thing that goes is your memory, AVA has come down with Parvo and is in the hospital, she was fine Saturday night when I feed her and AKA jr (both in the same pen) she did not eat Sunday morning or Sunday night, I went on to work this morning and called Nancy to see if she ate this morning, she did not so I got off work and drove 1 1/2 hrs back home and got her out of the pen washed her to take her to the vet, had to wait till 2:30 so I kept her in the house till time for the vet, never seen any blood till I brought her in and she had a bowel movement in the house
(Pure blood) I called the vet back and they said bring her right in, she's very healthy at 44 lbs, 9 months old (mud fat) so I'm sure she'll pull through, the vet said 80% chance but I still need your prayers, AKA jr got his shot (vet sent it home with me, he's acting fine) gave Choxie and Wild bill a booster just to be sure, bleached the whole house (what a mess), bleached the whole puppy pen, waters, feed bowl, and dog house, no telling what this will cost but it don't matter( I love my dogs), just remember to keep a log of things so this don't happen to you :(

I bought poster boards that will now take the place of my calender on the wall to keep records of everything

As hard as you try shit still happens :o

Parvo has taken the lives of many sweet dogs, we've all been there. Hope everything turns out for your pup and the rest of the yard

people that dont give a crap about their dogs seem to never have this happen, the way life works a lot

I'll keep her in my thoughts. I know that sometimes even when you vaccinate, these guys can still get Parvo. That's one disease that I genuinely fear. Here's hoping everybody turns out okay.

Our prayers are with you Marty and we hope for a speedy recovery for Ava. Don't be to hard on yourself though, unfortunate things can and do happen sometimes. It is not impossible by any means for even a fully vaccinated pup to get parvo as the disease mutates constantly in response to the vaccines. It is even seen in adults on occasion.

Don't beat yourself up about it Marty, we are only human. Looks like you might have caught it in time and she does have a little age on her. I will keep all of you in my thoughts and wish for the best.

Dang Marty :( I'm sorry to hear that, but hell %80 on a pup that's got age and a healthy weight on her side isn't so bad. They are lucky dogs to have such a great owner. I'll keep AVA and the other pups in my prayers, pullin for all ya
