ToughGuycopy.jpg SBTs that were bred from a fighting line that retained their conformation if not ability for a time........ then ulltimately consigned to history. If their are breeders looking into breeding a dog that will survive a keep to make it to the fastlane these examples show the correct bull & terrier influence IMO. But gameness would have to be demonstrated at 36lbs and under. At these weights they would stand a betting chance in the box.....

    Hi tamthebamm,
I know you say that it shows how much the breed has been ruined by the show breeders but surely they are just breeding to their preference, so the breeders that prefer the old working type could continue breeding to their preference. JMO

herodog, the working type is the only type and you wont find it at shows or dogs that decends from those dogs. dont fool yourself and look at the dogs the beginners bred and kept; nothing compared to the dogs winning ribbons and trophies at beauty shows. in some posts you ask obvious questions which tell me you lack basic knowledge but then at other posts you discuss nonsense. you cant take this as you wish but i remember when i first started i thought i knew it all cause i read two good books and had a decent dog, but my mentor told me "son shut up and listen and dont get this the wrong way cause i was in the same shoes you are in when i started".

    Hey 12gauge,
I think you misunderstood my post. All I meant was the show stafford is just that, a show dog so it is up to the people who want to preserve the original type to do just that. You are right my knowledge in dogs is very limited and I definitely don't think I know it all, far from it.
    Thanks for your input anyway.

If you have nothing to contribute to the history of stafford or pitbull, don't say nothing at al.
TS wanted to know what makes them so different, think that has been covered, those who keep true genuine stafford stock don't dream or have to much fanta to drink and know damn well what they've got and what the limits are.
Don't think we need another sing a long who only shouts that pitbulls are better.
