I ran across this story and thought I should put it up. It's about that lady in San Fran who owned the Presa Canario which killed an innocent women. She's been thrown back in prison. The story got an incredible amount of news coverage and now it looks like it has come to a final conclusion.
Moral of the story: CULL YOUR MANBITERS (WHATEVER BREED IT MAY BE). IT'S NOT WORTH THE RISK.

New York,NY -- New York is a capital of finance, media and fashion. Now add dog fighting.
Dogs suffer painful injuries, and even death, in fights that average nearly an hour — sometimes two — in length.
“On any given weekend, New York has more dogfights than any other city,” said John Goodwin of the Humane Society, the animal protection group that has monitored the illegal sport since 1954.

Chattanooga,TN -- The Appalachian Judicial Circuit District Attorney's office and Gilmer County Sheriff Stacey Nicholson, acting on intelligence provided by The Humane Society of the United States and Norred & Associates, raided an alleged dogfighting operation near Ellijay, Ga. today.
Gerald Holcumb, the apparent owner of the operation, was arrested and charged with felony dogfighting, being a felon in possession of a firearm and possession of marijuana.

Los Angeles Times - CA -- Here's a story for all the defenders of the pit bull:
A 2-year-old female boxer/pit bull mix named Angel, which had been turned over to the Nevada Humane Society’s shelter in Reno, is credited with rescuing six abandoned kittens Monday, according to Diane Blankenburg, a shelter spokeswoman.

Ga -- Glenn Albert “Al” White, 58, of Epworth is set to be arraigned Sept. 12 in Fannin County Superior Court on 25 felony counts of dogfighting, 21 misdemeanor counts of cruelty to animals and one felony count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, according to Appalachian Judicial Circuit District Attorney Joe Hendricks.
