Like I said many times before, everyone has the RIGHT to own this breed but NOT everyone is RIGHT for this breed.

Very true. Most probably shouldn't IMO but I believe in freedom so it's hard to be like, so and so shouldn't have one for whatever reason but it does seem like an awful lot of people who shouldn't own gerbils let alone a gamedog seem to have them. Lol.

    if the author is good,,,
    and you can process it,,,
    and utilize it proper,,,
    reading is great!!!

there is a secret formula in Strattons romantized books that I got very young,,,
I recently shared it with Bamaman as proof my mentor Strattons recipe is tried and true...

Thank you Elias....Stratton is the reason I fell in love with this noble breed

Elias I dont intentionally pick on you I swear, but when I read all the shit and lies you spew I just cant help it LOL.....I once asked you before in another post if you were mentored by Stratton himself or by his books and you said Stratton himself in which I still did NOT believe you lol......From this post, you are saying that you were mentored by Strattons books since there was no other source.......you also go on to say that you "HATED DOG FIGHTERS until you read Strattons book which further proves you were mentored by his books.

Now if you are going to back peddle and say that Stratton mentored you after you read his books I will still call bullshit as Stratton is not a true bonifide dogman, but more of a ADMIRER/FANCIER of the breed....I could even tell by watching the video (and all his books) that Stratton lacks a lot of hands on experience as all he does is RELAYS the STORIES of OTHER TRUE DOGMAN with almost none of his own, dont that sound familiar Elijah? LMAO

There is nothing wrong with reading Strattons books, but calling ones self a dogman after reading his books as if it were ones mentor is absurd. LMAO
I am not putting Stratton down but calling it like it is as iI believe that is what Stratton would want as his main goal for writing the books was to tell and speak the TRUTH about the American Pitbull Terrier.

I originally fell in love with the breed because of Mr Stratton, but I do believe he does romanticize the breed a little too much

  16. I agree and was in the same situation, even tho did t want to admit it. I read every book I could the breed. Called myself a dogman, then I got a bulldog and realized I didn't know shit! I stepped back and realized I was a fancier lmao as much as that hurt my pride. Even after a bunch of Bulldogs and other big breeds I still consider myself a fancier. Maybe one day in the future after I have a yard of dogs and only then will the status change. But for right now and next 5-10 years I'm fine with being a fancier and taking baby steps and getting a lot more info from the real dogmen right here!

I dont care what you have to troll about saiy but I do admire your gameness...

I bought a bulldog when I was 16 years old and chained him to a keg like a dummy,,,
he drug that keg around the back yard and got it tangeled every where...

An older man that grew up in a bulldog family stopped over to see our colby hogdog pup
he laughed and said " nice looking pup but YOU DONT KNOW DICK"...(inside joke for the dick riding trolls!!!)...

The next day he brought over Strattons BIG BROWN BOOK and my first bulldog mentor was spawned,,,
I soon had all his books and read them endlessly and it wasnt long before I wrote Mr. Stratton and become pen pals of a sort...

With in a few years he visited and stayed with a high scholl friends family while judging a local show,,,
I was also privallaged to have met Mr L Colby in the following year...

The thing about these two were they were students as understood the importance of teaching...

Another thing about these two fine historians was they were masters of story telling,,,
a trait that attracted me to them from the gate...

I will also say one thing I loved about living in nc was the old timers telling stories,,,
whether bulldogs,,, hunting or what ever it was truly a LOST ART and LINGO...

Men like Slim,,,HWM,,, Trotline and sometimes the Bamaman can really tell some good stories that remind me of this sort,,,
go ahead saiy call it dick riding as you are still back peddling an forest of dicks...

As far as Mr.Stratton goes,,,I talk to him to this day and we hope to take the kids to disneyland next year and visit with him...

he never fought bulldogs but they have made him plenty happy and for that and other reasons he is my mentor in many ways,,,
I am sure I a was not the only one to urge him to write another book and...

    http://www.lulu.com/us/en/shop/richard-stratton/bulldog-edition/hardcover/product-21065981.html

Hidden inbetween the big brown books romance set in stone is the formula,,, but you would have read past the pictures...

I am sure I am not the only one urging SLIM,,, write a book and stop feeding the trolls...

Lol, many years ago after the conformation show judged by the said actor we all attended real game encounter, it was legal back then. Funny situation, b/c in real, like one of the folks here say, all the trash talking and bullshit stops once you in the box

  19. ELIAS'PISTOLA

    ELIAS'PISTOLA CH Dog

    once you in the box???
    nice grammar,,,
I thought it was all the bs stops when we step in the box,,,
but what ever makes it your own,,, lol...

to each his/her own and I am sure the actor has more knowledge than all you internet dogmen...

I am sure the actor wasnt judging these type of shows back when it was legal either...

Why would you knock a man that has done more to preserve the bulldogs more than many???

it take many of different types of dogmen to complete the bulldog cycle,,,
it takes one type of troll to try and break it...

  20. Nice response Elias. Yr right to deny a man because he didn't fight dogs or had a yard full of dead game dogs, is crazy! especially when they have done so much for the breed. I believe more people interested in the breed have mr Stratton to thank. Cuz with out his books I for one would have not gained my insight on this wonderful breed. Every part of the cycle is important from the breeder to the story teller we need all the pieces to fit and that creates the complete picture of our love of the breed. Put aside all the egos and remember what we all have in common... The dogs and to keep them alive and well. The people against this breed wants us to fight, we need a solid foundation to fight BSL
