Dam, I mentioned exactly that on a prior post. One should have a handle on his or her dog's quality with or without 'roids. Some folks seem to have trouble with that simple concept.

This thread is painfully hilarious. Like a root canal.

Roids may not make a dog game, but to say they're merely a supplement, or won't help speed, or whatever is ....just wrong. Ask Ben Johnson how he ran a 9 flat 100...They do soooo many things for who/whatever is on them, it's ridiculous really. Racehorses aren't a good example b/c they're so loaded up on winstrol an equipoise its not funny. As for ppl, juice won't give an avg athlete the ability to play in the pros, but they will help anybody....strength, speed, agility, dexterity, and prolly most of all recovery time. A good workout allows blood to pool in a muscle group for x amt of time. Imagine doubling that amt of time. The receptors an white blood cell count in the area, coupled w/ the speed in recovery time to build up torn down tissue is invaluable. gameness no, but a lot of other valuable qualities for any athlete

Steroids are merely a supplement. Any thing man made is a supplement like Whey protein powder , creatine powder , glutamine powder, multi-vitamins etc..the only difference is steroids is ILLEGAL to buy without a prescription and ILLEGAL to use in almost any sports activity.

When supplements like creatine was introduced in the late 80's it was a break through in sports/athletic enhancing abilities and previous records of individuals were broken due to this creatine supplement. Same can be said of a simple supplement drink that alot of athletes use called GATORADE. Instead of just drinking plain water at there games, they found out that by adding salt, potassium and sugar to water can increase hydration and stamina in there athletes.

In the late 80's till early 2000's there were a lot of supplements on the market that could be sold legally over the counter that had the potency and effectiveness very similar to steroids in pill form. They were all banned later due to people dying most likely due to people not following directions on the bottle because some people think if you take more then the recommended dosage the results increase, but what they dont realize is that over dosing also increases the risk of dying LOL.

We agree to disagree then. Had plenty of experience w/ steroids. Nothin like any "supplement" anyone has ever seen/ taken. Hence, the reason they're prescribed....like any other good drug. ie you can take advil for pain...or lortab, perc., oxy, dilauted, ect To compare regular supplements to steroids or aspirin to these is not apples to apples.

Since the OP asks if you would breed to a 'roided dog, and since it's a given that steroids cannot in any way enhance gameness (DUH), then if you are breeding your dogs based on gameness, and not sheer ability, throwing gameness aside............WTF difference could it make if steroids were used on the dog or not?

Not being funny but steroids are on a whole different level to protein Protein Powder, Creatine or Gatorade. Just look how fast they can turn a weakling into a huge muscly monster, I've seen it with my own eyes. It sure won't improve gameness but it certainly will help improve performance if used correctly which means it could help a dog win a match before it's gameness is tested whereas clean the dog might have quit.

I am not comparing the levels of steroids to protein, Creatine or Gatorade. What I said in my post is that steroids are merely supplements the only difference is steroids are illegal to buy without a prescription.

Although steroids can increase a dogs performance to a degree, this part of your statement about turning a weakling really fast into a muscular monster sounds overly exaggerated. If that were true it would turn a weakling chihuahua into a pitbull really fast like how weakling Bruce Banner transforms into the incredible Hulk. LMAO

I was talking about humans not dog, they are way stronger than being merely a supplement. The transformation they can make in such little time is incredible.

Sounds like a lot of repeating what one has heard rather than what one has actually done.

No it's what I've seen with my own eyes, my cousin transformed from a weakling to muscle bound in a relative short time, the reason for that was steroids.

    1. Steroids don't do anything by themselves.
    2. You're trying to make a connection between completely different types of steroids for two completely different purposes on two different species.
    3. You have no real world personal experience with them.

    1. Steroids definitely do something by themselves, fact.

    2. What has a dog being a different species to us got to do with the effectiveness of steroids?? Please tell me why do horse breeders and trainers use steroids on their animals??

    3. You're right I haven't personally used steroids but a close memeber of my family uses them so I do know what they can do.

You obviously have selective reading/comprehension. At any rate I don't care what you think or do. It's of no consequence to me n I have better things to do than spell it all out for some bull headed know it all.

No you mean I don't listen to bullshit that you write, that's different to selective hearing in my eyes.

What are you actually trying to say?? That steroids don't have a big effect on performance?? Go tell that to Lance Armstrong, Ben Johnseon etc......

When I was younger I spent a LOT of time in the gym, clean. Had gains, but took time. I would see new people come in, blow past me in months, in terms of size, and strength. Now After they stopped the gas is a whole different story, they lost most all their gains in short order and had other negative effects while I have maintained w relative ease. Steroids are not protein, creatine, etc. I think I posted earlier in the tread but, gas will not make a dog game, however it may give him enough of a boost to beat his opponent. Doesnt have to be game, just better at that time than the other, period.
