I dont like to comment here as you's dont seem to like what Iv to say, but it was about a year (year and 1/2) after I sold him to the Farmers Boys that he was matched in to the "Stormer" dog, nothing to do with me...R

you realy think every dogmen has the same common sence you have?
i found it verry doubtfull aswell. but still it was writen.
actually am suprised that the most staff owners on this board kno so litle about the history and the story's behind the old dogs.

ne way he aint here ne more.. and the formal owner had the dog sold at that time so we will not find out.

    cheers

i would like to see where this was writen , i have spoken with both owners of psycho and stomer, have seen stormer with my own eyes,, i have photos of both dogs taken on the day of the match , and have never heard of any talk of a badger ,

Never heard the badger story either, did hear early on in the keep they had him (Psycho) trot beside a bike(motor bike ?), and they tore his pads...R

to be fair, he looked in VERY POOR shape. i think it was early in his owners matching career, perhaps their first.
many believe the better (and gamer) dog lost that day.

Im almost 100% secure that it was psycho. but i've gotta be honest. reading this make's me doubt myself a bit.
I will dig in my old staff readings.

  10. i have no knowledge of books etc on the irish staff/bullterrier only personal experience
just over 6 years ago we were adopted by a huge irish bull terrier who we named rocky
he is as daft as a brush and wudn't know vicious if u hit him with a dictionary open at the page defining the word
we have never seen him so much as growl at another dog save one time in the park when a retriever got between rocky and one of his babies (my 3 week old grandson in his pram)
despite rocky dragging the other dog nearly 50 yards away it was uninjured.....well maybe a dented pride .....much to the absolute amazement of the owner whe was expectin to collect wot was left of his dog in a carrier bag after seeing the size and breed of rocky
he truly doesn't seem to know wot he is capable of and is well and truly kept in his place by our 3 cats
he always has to be touching someone which can be awkward when he squeezes into gaps on the sofa
he is very fond of his veggies...... sprouts in particular which //////result in some aromas which are.......interesting lol
he is very friendly and expects any visitors to have only come to cuddle him
when he first arrived to live with us our vet put him at 11+ which now makes him over 17!!!!! not that he looks any where near that jumping around in the snow
mind u i believe he is eyeing up my stairlift and wud use it if he cud
i have met 2 other owners of these beautiful much maligned dogs who assure me that their dogs r also gentle giants
we have had several large dogs over the years but i can honestly say that when it comes time for rocky to enter doggy paradise i wud have no hesitation in homing another "bully"
hope this has given u an inside view of himself
    kindest regards
    cat

I always thought that Psycho was a mixture od SBT & EBT ??? also from what i have heard is that beanie 1 & beanie 2 which i would put down as irish staffs were 100% staff where put to the most extreme sport & both dogs came out of it alive ???, Their has been alot of good dogs came out of these lines but what we have today is everyone jumping on the band wagon that irish staffs all came out of these lines ( bollox ) these lines are just about gone now & if anyone has still got strong lines of the lines mentioned id like to see them .

psycho had ebt in him but very little on his sires side kilwickie lad who was half staff half ebt a ch trial dog.odinslad what do you class dogs from them lines.as there are dogs out there with psycho and dublin red in there peds about, obviously generations back but still there.every dog man jumps on a band wagon in some way about what ever breed wether it be patterdale with nuttal, gould lines apbt redboy, bullyson, and many other lines or staffs with psycho, dub red or beanie line but these are just names yes if bred right will carry traits of these past dogs but the only way to find if they do is to put the dogs threw the tests that there famliy tree was built on. the dog world is built on crossing breeds thats how u make a breed name.

What im trying to say here is that Psycho was not a full breed staff , but was a recognised game dog , beanie dogs were staffs , dublin red were staffs ext but still game dogs so in reality anything bread out of psycho was not a staff , yes i can see where you are coming from in the lines of game dogs but what im trying to say is that from knowwhere their was this breed of dog called Irish Staffordshire BT , now dont get me wrong here i personaly prefer the ISBT dog as i have one out of keetches line with Psycho . beanie lines in there & it was own personal choice in going for the ISBT .

Not disagreeing with you about the PSYCHO dog not being 100% SBT ...but BEANIE is down from Psycho on both sides of her pedigree... so has to be labeled like PSYCHO.....
