Thats a fair question! Most people don't know why, they see others doing it, so they fall suit.
The bottom line is, if you are successful in life at something, "no matter what it is" there will be people gunning for you. Now, has TG done some things that has got some people upset? I am sure he has, if you are at something long enough you are going to piss somebody off! Hell, I have pissed plenty of people off, and I am sure so has everybody else on here. And NOBODY in these dogs is a saint! I have never personally meet TG, but I have recently purchased a pup from him for the first time. And he was nothing but straight up, and honest with me. From beginning till delivery, it all went as planned.
Now that photo was funny, but my perspective was different than most. I was envious because I wish I still had that much hair! LOL.
And I have seen some pictures of me in the 80's :eek:. And at that time I was into weight lifting, and body building pretty heavy. And some of my outfits where not much better than his!
But in my, "never to be humble", opinion, he still puts down some pretty damn good dogs.

 

Hell yeh im talking about a haricut . I'm not hating on TG, just laughing at his '88 hair. That look just screams douchebag.

I never talked or meet the man in person, but i know for sure that the dogs he backs up had made their mark in bulldog history.

I have just gotta say from a woman's point of view Tom Garner was a HOT dogman!! back in his days I know he was pulling the ladies with his curly hair and all look at him he kept in good shape too. :p Of course I was too young for him I was watching jem and Shera then LMAO!!!

 

from all the newer pics i have seen of him he still looks pretty in shape for me has a lil more of a gut but that comes with age on some i reckon
