-The Days Of Our Lives, a warning to whoever is new to the dogs-

well, like ive always told folks here (some already knew), these dogs will be the biggest homewreckers youve ever dealt with. lol :o

me & my ol' lady got into it again this morning. not even over anything productive. she wanted to hang out with me & i was pissed that she woke me up so early, so we started arguin, ya know the usual, "why dont you spend time with me",.. to my.. "why ru such a pain in the ass".......(ya know those everyday arguments.)
so we got over that pretty quick and it got down to us talkin about if we should really be together or not. if we were really whats best for eachother, if we make eachother happy & what do we both eventually want in life (this is where it goes south).
we agreed that we both mutually care for eachother, and that we want the best things for eachother. we also agreed what we can do to stay out of eachothers hair about things.

what we didnt agree on is what we want in life (well we did for the most part just not on 2 little things).
she wanted to move out together and get a spot in an apartment or a duplex. and when were ready she wanted to by a house in the city limits.
I on the other hand want to move OUT of the city, and get a spot in the county lines (right outside the city limits). i tried to explain that i want to get OUT the hood and actually provide a GOOD life for my family and my dogs (this is where the converstaion went to shit).

she doesnt understand that im in this game for the long haul! and that these dogs are a part of me & my life (they come with the territory) and that they arent going anywhere. she "thought" that i would keep my 2 housedogs, and maybe after they go id have one dog in the backyard or whatever, who knows wtf she was thinking.
the fact is she didnt want anything to do with the idea of me eventually owning a yard of dogs.
so i basically told her "look, i love you & want only happiness & fortune for the both of us!.....on the flipside, you know what im about & what comes with the territory. you knew who i was before we got together & chose to be here. so you can love it or leave it!"

well she decided thats not what she wanted in life so she made her decision. & i agreed to let her go.
5 years of wasted youth.


now the point of this isnt to get all kinds of "im sorry for your loss" posts & comforting comments. yall can keep that shit to yourselves.
this is for those folks that say "oh i love these dogs and i want to get into this and stay in it forever" (which ive heard a few times from some of the newbies here), and im hoping that they see this and compare the dogs importance to what they feel is important.
bottome line is, take a look around you & those that you care for.

are you willing to give it up for your/the dogs? i am, but im not everybody.

and just because you have an unconditional love for these dogs, doesnt mean everybody else does. even those that you may consider closest to you.

Very good advice to think about things first.Also something to think about if u get a divorce will your ex be spiteful . Mine called the humane society on me before one of our court hearings.Nothing happened but she made it clear I would never be able to have any life with my kids if I got busted. So I dropped off the radar all together.Not just for my sake but friends didn't deserve this crap either.So think about things first.Again very good post LWG.

 

i hear ya my wife bitches everyday but she wouldent get reid off her 3 for nothing so it comes down to just hearing her bitch everyday.and she knows where the door is the dogs arent going any where.

sad thing is, other than this BS, i think she genuwinely had her heart in the right place. it just wasnt with the dogs unfortunately.

Ya... it's hard to come to that spot, where you know you are going in different directions. The dogs have often stirred up trouble in my relationships, which is probably why I'm still single. Not many guys are up to the challenge of a home schooling mum, with a special needs kid and a houseful of dogs. The dogs and kids are here to stay, so chances are I'm going to be single for a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time! :lol:

Honestly, I'd think real hard before taking her back. She made a choice and now she's having second thoughts about it but what about next time? What if you get in a huge fight. What if it comes down to a costody battle someday? A lot of chicks are cool till things ain't cool and then they'll be the ones to call the cops and make up stuff to get back at you. What if you get hurt or sick? You need a chick who loves you AND THE DOGS!!!!!! Someone who's gonna go feed and water and care for them if you can't be there. There's plenty of single young hot chicks out there who LOVE dogs. JMO........ Hit the club.

well yeah i was bummed at first and felt i made a decision. came to let others know (incase they didnt) that there are more sacrifices than just your budget,freedom,morality, ect.

you may have to come to the decision between those you care for & your love for the dogs.

thought it could be some food for thought with others.
when my tone changed is when she called back saying all that other shit. of course it would boost your ego, it would anybody lol.

doesnt change the fact that what happened earlier still happened. and the nexts mans ol lady may not be as clingy & needy as mine.

so this thread still poses as a learning situation for whoever is willing to listen.

 

You need to look for a balance. Life happens and sometimes despite what you really want in your heart of hearts doesn't always happen. One day the dogs may have to go away. But if the dogs go away will you be standing alone. Don't get to caught up in it (putinng everything in one basket), as it can change real quick.

Love your ppl, love your dogs, enjoy life.

 

just have her read a stratton book. after that she will have a better understanding of these dogs & why we like them. that shit about them being "clown dogs" & "nanny dogs" gets them every time. once she read about that dog saving him from drowning.it's a done deal they eat that shit up. you got plenty of time to soften her up. so don't trip now & don't lose a good girl over future plans. just play it like a yes man till she comes around.
