For someone to say these dogs aren't good with kids, is in my opinion, inexperience talking.

 

I never said they wernt good with kids just not as great as the clueless make them out to be

and the comment was made in reguard to the whole breed


just because your apbt may be good with kids dosnt mean my can tolerate them the same way

 

your right because the day I stop being able to learn is probley the day I take my last breath

 

how many have you had that were bad with kids Frank? or at least the kind that didnt seem to be fond of them? i ll say i ve had my share of dogs, and not one had anything but love for em.

 

I can't argue with that. My kids know not to go near a strangers dog or a friends dog unless I say it is ok. I just think your getting the wrong message across.

Another thing, at one time I had about 40-50 including puppys and only about 8 of them the kids weren't allowed to be around. I also was rasing primary Eli/Bullyson dogs. That is the blood line that issuppose to be the most human aggressive due to breeding. Not the case on my yard.

 

Im gonna say this you can take what I said and try to blow it out of proportion

just as some one will take what you say and apply it to every pitbull they see which is not the case

some are good with them some are not

and sometimes theres no sign of dislike but accidents do happen

because someone didnt do the right thing and protect the dog from their
kid

they are only flesh and blood just like us, true enough their pain tolerance
is a bit higher

but let a kid hit you in the eye even a preacher may give a curse if it hurts bad enough

so why are these dog supposed to be so perfect and be without flaws

 

no, thats why you teach kids to respect animals. my daughters help with the dogs daily and participate in jr. handler class. agreed tho, not all kids are raised right, and yes any dog will get sick of abuse

 

which takes me back to my first post

why not help educate people how to maintaine and keep the dogs
to help minimize the chances of ruining a good dog

My four year old is not allowed in the back yard by herself
and probly will not be for a while 10/11 maybe

cause even though I know she likes the dog she may hit them throw at them

and that can cause a bad situation

so Im guessing that any breed of dog that would have to have supervision while with kids is not the best dog for kids to run freely with

Popularisation-exploatation will kill this breed. These dogs don´t need to be popularised, they need to be left alone.

i had one male my whole life that didnt liek kids and he didnt like anybody except me. He was also severely abused before i got him. When i brought him home he was scared of me but had gotten a little used to me on the hour and a half car ride home. when he saw all the people at my house when we arrived he started to pee and poop out if fear. once he learned he could trust me and got his confidence up he didnt like anyone to touch him. He would attack anyone, didnt even need a leash... just leave him alone. Thats the only one i have had that didnt like kids. And that wasnt his fault. I ahvent had as many bulldogs as alot of people on here but i've had enough to know whats going on. And the sad part was he was a really good dog.

 

Frank i dont agree with everything you have said but i do UNDERSTAND you. maybee if people stop telling people how great these dogs are they will stop?

we are in the time where we have what i call a bulldog, and what joe public calls a pitbull, we have numerous other Fad types or offshoots of our dogs and they are called pitbulls by joe public too. we all know thats hardly the same thing.
in my country pretty much every single person who owns one has one for the wrong reasons and they have fucked it up for everyone.

i havent come across a single well bred bulldog that wasnt short of fantastic with kids.
how ever i am sceptical of the "pitbulls"[not bulldogs] that i am seeing bred over here . they are far from bulldogs they are merely a shell.

the best thing on here ive read so far is "close your circles"
things realy are only gonna get worse i think.
but when its all over the bulldog will still be here as strong as ever with the right people behind them.

I know my dog like the the back of my hands. My dog is not holding back his "bite prey urge". He just wants to lick them. The kids enjoy when they have there faces licked. Thats why they are running, to get the dogs attention and for the dog to chase/lick them.

I have full control over my dog. IF I wanted the dog to stop, I would. But the kids enjoy playing with my DOG like that. If I wanted a CAT, then I would get a cat. Then the cat will not jump and it will just walk around and be petted. And thats it.

Do you think kids have fun by petting a dog standing still with his head down, that walks slow across the house? Do you have fun taking your hand and rubbing it on the dogs fur while it lays down submissively all day? Get a life or learn to have fun with a dog. Kids will get bored of just petting the dog standing still. IF you notice in the video, they cant stop laughing at my dog. They are having a blast. Also, I already had some of the kids put there hand in the dogs food bowl with pieces of stake in it and take it away from him and tell him to sit. As I said, I know my dog like the back of my hand.

and lol'd @ the pack comment. These dogs are not pack animals.


The way your describing your children doing some of those things to the dogs.. Learn to get control over your own kids and teach them to respect the dog. Then your little "apbt's" may like the children. And learn to socialize one to.

cause not every dog will let you put your hand inits bowl while eating
so to avoid a bad situation why provoke a biteing

you remind me of the animal cops people when they tryn to asses an animal for adoption an they bring that fake ass hand and taunts the dog while eating by repeatedly playing with the dogs food shit I would bite your hand to you get close to my food

so why should a dog be so different
