:eek: It would take about 15 yrs to get a good kennel just off the ground ( to look at %s) and he already wants to know how much he could get for pups off this dog. Never mind the dam huh?? :mad:

 

like i said bro im not tryin to build rome in a day i just wanted to see if the bitch i got would be the one to use for my foundation. but ima stop wit the breeding talk for now ill fire it back up when the time comes. hopefully by the end of the day ill have a pedigree on here for you guys if not ill atleast have the certificate that shows her parents and no i can give a damn about the money that was just a curiosity thing

I would think choosing your foundation bitch would be a pretty important activity for any kennel. I'm amazed at how loosely you are going about it.

I do not even breed and I have considered either breeding APBT or Akitas one day - with the way pit breeders get witch hunted it will most likely be Akitas.

I already know exactly what kennel, and what dam I would want my founding Akita bitch from. I am years away - if not decades - from even starting breeding and I've already started talking to the breeder of the bitch I wanted to get a foundation dog from, just to get to know them, their dog, and see if this is truely the dog I want to base my program off.

I don't understand how you can grab up a dog and then after start thinking, "well F**k let me ask the internet to tell me about my dog and if she should be my foundation bitch because I sure haven't bothered to research her and her bloodlines at all on my own."

I just don't get how you can get a dog thinking it will possibly be your foundation bitch without even knowing about the history of the bloodlines it came from.

Like I said before - I think laziness and taking short cuts are pretty crappy qualities for a pitbull breeder to have. Doesn't seem like you are getting off on a good start at all. :mad:

it wasnt like i was in the market for a foundation bitch when i got her i already had my 2 house dogs. but after my grandfather passed away the guy he used to breed with stopped by the house to ask my g-pa if he wanted one of his game dogs from his upcomming litter (at the time he didnt know he passed) after i told him we got to talking and he asked if i would like a pup (around that time i was wondering where to find a "real" game dog that my g-pa used to breed) so of course i said "yes i would love one". i told him that i EVENTUALLY wanted to start a yard and have some good quality dogs and he said "well shes (the one i picked) the one to do it with". so six months later i find this page and decided to get peoples opinions on her line!

 

oh so he a breeder also? never knew that. what about dmx does he breed? cuz i heard they raided his property in az and took like10 dogs and found some burnt ones also?

 

So it has been 6 months and you still haven't even bothered to learn about the bloodlines the dog is out of? I don't think you get the point I am trying to make here, because each time I say something about you being careless or lazy you post something in your "defense" that makes you seem even lazier. :eek:

if i dont want to learn about the lines why do you think im on here? i didnt know that these forums existed until yesterday. no body around me out here has game dogs, nor do they even care about what game ness is in a dog. all the pit owners out here juss care about what the dog looks like not what it possesses inside. so i joined this site hoping to learn about her lines, among a lot others, learn more about the breed in general!! its hard to go and learn a lot about your dog when nobody around you has anything like your dog!

I'm sorry, maybe I am out of line here and if I am please by all means another forum member or mod tell me to shut up - but I am boggled right now.

This is a great place to learn, yes, and it is great that you came here. I just don't get how in 6 months you could not bother to even google the bloodlines and do some research yourself. You supposedly have Stratton's books, so you know that books about the history of game bred dogs exist, there are tons of books that talk about the three bloodlines you named.

I just don't get why you waited 6 months to even bother starting you research. I also don't get why 6 months later you still don't even know your dogs pedigree.

Really, someone tell me to shut the f**k up if I am wrong here, but I don't think I am out of line.

I come from a city where everyone thinks big blue bluffs are "real pitbulls" and ask why the dogs I foster and do rescue with are "so tiny and skinny" - I know what you mean about no one around you knowing about game dogs - but when I wanted to learn I went and read books and did the research myself rather than making excuses why I couldn't learn....

I would not even have a problem if you were coming here wanting to learn before you started getting a dog and thinking about breeding it. My problem is the order you went about things.....

 

what im saying is thats all i know-theres a difference between blue buffs & real game dogs- i know razors edge,gotti line, gaff is all blue nose big bully shits

then again if u say colby,bad billy crenshaw, ect. ur talking game dogs

big blue= new age pits

small skinny (emerican or red)= old time pit, or something else!

MY QUESTION IS-WAS
what r the unique features i should be expecting from my dog being it had the lines i mentioned, and would she work as a good foundation bitch. i didnt have the knowledge of what scatter bred meant (still dont) and that you cant tell i basically thought jeep dogs were jeep dogs, chinamen was chinamen & nigerino was nigerino!
i thought they all basically carried the same traits and basic features of theyre ancestors which i realized yesterday i was wrong theyre all different?

 

Scatter bred means that basically the dog was not bred tightly to the bloodlines. So for example if the dog has a one ancestor from Jeep lines, one from Colby, one from OFRN, and so on with a ton of different dogs from different lines in its peds it would be "scatter bred".

What it is referring to is that there is not a tight concentration of any particular bloodline in the dog - it's pedigree seems "scattered", random, and all over the place. If you have very low content of a bloodline your chances of getting good reliable traits that that line is known for are far less than if you have a tightly bred dog from the same bloodline.
