Hey smart guy. Did you read the very first sentence??? "There are some in the modern community that have dogs that are not only "game" but have a hard time finding out because of their abilities such as mouth, and agility." See that underlined? "NOT ONLY GAME BUT"
    LMAO

And I never said they didnt. What I DID say was that this wont be passed on in the offspring. These dogs that are game with these abilities came about because of breeding for gameness and these traits popped up eventually. Breeding for abilities and not gameness results in a dog that will probably have neither. Gameness is easily lost-even when breeding gr.ch to gr.ch. so why would breeding a hard-mouthed dog that is a cur to an even bigger cur bring out what gr.ch to gr.ch cant?

I would't go so far as to just asume that it isn't a pitbull. There are so many different styles to the pit. You can go from one that looks like the dog from powerline kennels to one that looks like a 30lb grey hound.. Some people find the stacked, big headed pitbulls to be more apealing and I used to be one of them but now I apriciate all of the different styles and see something I like in all of them.. I don't think they are trying to fool people into thinking that is what the pit should look like I just think that is the style they personally went for. Everyone eventually finds out that not all pits are as apealing.. I also agree that the dog bashing is a bit harsh...

No dissrespect to anyone that has a real reason and approach for breeding this breed, but it's funny how a lot of people here are experts on the quantitive gene theory when they themselves are inbreeding to the point that their dogs arent even fuctional. And that makes you an expert on breeding game dogs. The fact is that it really dont take a rocket scientist to breed a crazy ass dog that has no concept of stopping if your starting from a quality and established line. Another thing that bothers me is the initial hate that some have on the amstaff blood. If I'm not mistaken E. Tudor, J. Corvino (whom called his dogs amsaffs), C. Doyle, J. Colby and others had good friendships with those that are respected for basically starting the Amstaff line like C. Ormbsby of the x pert line and C. Harriman of the ruffian line which is basically Tudor/Henry (Tudor's black jack 16xw) blood thats been ethicaly bred for the show ring. The foundation for all these two line are in fact Colby, Corrington/Corvino, Tudo/Henry blood. Nothing else. And for some that dont know, some of these dogs proved themselves game like Ch x-pert velvet buck 1xw whom won in 1:17. Just my 2 cents on the drama

I just love the breed in general, game pits or Amstaffs, ugly or beautiful. I do believe that they should be seperate as far as what we call each one. Also health and performance is very important to me with my dogs, their ability to perform as well as their gameness really sets them apart from other dogs of the world. Breeding should only be done by the ones who are responsible, have the resources, knowledge, good intentions, love for the breed, and who actually have a plan and a good home for each pup. It seems from learning from this site that most people out there should never breed any dogs and are'nt doing anything to help the breed.

I already know what each of my dogs strengths are and my focus for know is to continue training them until each one is to the point were their obedience and control is to the optimal level of their potential. I am actively showing dogs to the general public at dog parades, shows, parks, petsmarts, everywhere that safely allows dogs to be present. By parks I mean ones where there are no off leash animals. I have spent alot of days off changing the bad image pitbulls have with people who never liked them or knew anything about them until me.

I believe part of being a responsible owner of the breed other than keeping your dogs healthy and trained is to always do things to help the breed. Anyone not helping the breed is too lazy to own these dogs.

Yes thats right.. Tacoma All Ablaze was also an "am staff" you can trace Turtlebuster bac kto him

However..you are sort of wrong in your rationalization. The original AM staffs, and perhaps a few generations after were bred from game dogs.. and they more than lilkely carried the same traits But the Am Staffs of today, have NOT. They have purposely bred away from the game and aggressive traits. While granted it pops up here and there, they are simply not the same today as the APBT. they are bred bigger, for looks, conformation..they also have a TON of more health problems than the tradition APBT.

Just because the Am Staff can trace its roots back to a 5XW..look at how many generations you must go back.

By no means am I saying that a amstaff of today have the qualities of those from the 60-70's, I just dont see the reason for absolutely dissrespecting the breed. At one time it was a respected breed, by game dog men as well, but just like the game bred apbt, the staff also was bred out of fad. The blue/gray coloring that would pop up from time to time was due to the heavy influence of the Tudor/Henry blood wich caught the attention of a lot of staff breeders, and trickled down to our now bigger is better generation. And as far as some staff blood of today, there are dogs out there that are registered winners with very tight ruffian influence. And I'm not just talking about 1xw's

Certainly not defending APBT/Staff crosses but "Miller's Shorty" was such a cross and was as good as they come (died in 2003 at the age of 6). Shorty was unquestionable game by anyone's standards, but I tell you, his offspring were shit.

yes we all come in here to live and learn....and when a man voices his oppion on a breed he is entitled to it (in refrence to the orginal post from king) we come in here to get help and make friends and him voiceing his oppion about a dog is just another chance to get to know him...if he or whoever don't like a dog that is ok that is his prefrence...it don't mean bash him.....everyone of us has oppion about others dogs.....my oppion is the dog is nice looking, not my type but is a nice looking dog....lets get to know each other and stop bashing thoughs with oppions that don't hurt the breed ....lets stand together and provide a backbone for all of our breeds in the bull community!!!

yeah, why the hell not. There your dogs and you can do whatever you want with them. For those that are mad or disagree with you just tell them to piss off. "Judge not unless you be judged first"

what you do on your yard is your business, but breeding any type dog to that greyline stuff would be nonsense in my opinion. Those dogs dont even have a good foundation to breed from, so you would be only destroying any pure game blood. I wouldn't even breed a show quality staff to that stuff. PERIOD...
    JMO though.
