dagger kennels..really that big?

Dagger dogs hold many titles in weight pulling and they also bring the weight pull to the shows.
The owner is a good man and respected by many and I will say he has big dogs and loves them
and also competes them. I have personally met him on many occasion. He is a big man that I guarantee
few on this board would would stand in front of him and run their mouth.
If I am not mistaken at one time one of his dogs held the worlds record for the most pounds pulled.
The guy has a grip of trophies and is a down to earth honorable family man. I believe he is still in the high
desert.

 

what a stupid comment....who cares if hes a big bad mutt owner, some of us aint exactly little guys either, and aint afraid to throw down, so save that bullshit. when it really comes down to it, many are as fearless as their dogs, and dont need to be a giant to be a toughguy. oh yeah...did i say mutts enough times? gotta meet that quota when we discuss these MUTTS

*btw, pulldogs are fun to watch, i love it, but ive seen a chinese crested that was a pullin fool and at least he was a purebred and not a mutt being passed off as one.

 

This, I don't care how well his curs pull if he's TRYING (not successfully) to pass them off as APBTs.

 

A big man....what does that have to do with anything. He could be a good person etc. But that isn't the topic. The topic here is the Mutts.

 

How does someone get the most wanted blood line of dogs? At the weight his dogs are at, they should be able to pull a tonka truck! Still doesn't make them bulldogs.

 

what matters to me is this " if those big Dagger dogs would hunt against a much smaller game dog without considering the weight difference for example a garner dog, who would come victorious who will win. does that size help them to do the job the breed has been original been bred for better or not if not then all this size is useless, just a wast of food bills and too much poop to clean after.then there wouldn't be any good reason to breed them that big. in short which would do the job this breed was bred to do better, and this is all what matters in my opinion". Please guys give your opinions and advice on this topic. we the old timers on this one came on guy Gringopistola we need to here your opinion on this one. thank you guys.

 

Zeus is the sire to Hoss. Zeus Is a large dog I have seen hold down a 300 lb. pig by himself. SO measure 3 small dogs against that one lol. Most boring hunt ever with that dog but very effective. Many of those dogs can do the work of 3. You still need a Bayer though unles you want to do it :-D.

 

and i know of 58 lb game dog who can and have every hunt do this exact same thing on every hunt they use him as the only catch dog those dogs are not anything special

 

Agreed. You don't need to "improve" the APBT, it is already the perfect catch dog.

 

theres a member on here that lives south of me that has a 53 lb unconditioned bulldog that'a a far better catchdog than any of them mutts ever will be. seen it myself.. big hogs, doesnt matter. if he wants to speak up, he will, but he tends to avoid these mutt dog arguments. face it, good bulldogs will out work any breed out there.

I would take mayday or something bred down from him over the dagger dog's any day of the week. The APBT= perfection! How do you improve upon that?

Ps any dog can pull weight I have seen poodles compete in WP. Anything these Dagger Mutt's can do the APBT can do better.

No matter what they are. The answer the question is yes they are really big.
you could put your kid on the back and have em walk around like a pony.

personally I like to see big pulls by smaller dogs.
Them dagger dogs truly are big and that guy is good people.
