What's his philosophy?

 

Mr dykes mr. Burns & mr. Crenshaw even tho i never meet him.

 

I love John P. Colby (1875-1941) If I had to pick one dog that would be hard.I think he is my favorite because of what he brought to the breed and his family continues to bring to the breed, over a 100 years of knowledge. I read L Colbys book about his father, it was amazing to me , he even autographed the book. We exchanged several emails, he was always very kind and responsive. I even sent him a picture of me and my mutt and told him of my dream to have a Colby dog someday...

 

Two of the greatest gentlemen I ever met were Mr. E. Morfin Brid and D.S. who breeds the Heinzl dogs.

Of the old dogmen I would say Don Mayfield, George Saddler and Bert Clouse because no one in their time could put a dog in shape like they could.

As breeders, Earl Tudor, Ed Ritcheson, Ed Crenshaw and Floyd Boudreaux because his dogs have withstood the test of time and then some.

Today my favorite breedings are coming from Aries, OHK and the boyz at the AZ Combine. Oh and I love them Kemmer bred dogs too so I guess add Harris to that group.

 

Well mine is not so well known to most,just a lil ole man and just as feisty as them dogs...lol and a good man as well.... R.I.P. RUSS GILL, you still are missed

 

can forgot the TG work for all those years he make a good job with the Chinaman,Spike,Lever Red and dogs like Stonewall,Li'l Gator and many others are off his breeding program in my opinion he gave a great contribution.

honestly id have to say my grandfather and my dad, ive learned everything i know about these dogs from them and still learn more everyday.


if i had to spit out a big name id probably have to say Floyd ive met him on several occasions and the the privilege to sit down and really pick his brain about stuff once and i must say he has more than likely forgotten more stuff about these dogs than ill ever

besides this whole thread kinda reminds me of some groupie shit.

 

if i HAD to pick id pick either John Fonseca (cuz he's from sac & i used to go to his sons house with my gramps when i was little)
or ed faron (hell juss cuz im reading his book and i like it lol)

yea he was acquitted but all of his dogs were already dead (i think) some of them went to rescues

I kno this gonna sound crazy but imma have to say MYSELF.... if u dont like yerself then who else is....hahaha But seriously im a fan of GARY HAMMONDS.. He is one of the nicest and down to earth people i have met.. His dogs arent bad either.
