Welcome to Pit Bull Community!
We are dedicated to the preservation of the pit bull in its original form as a game-bred dog and in its modern incarnations as a loving companion pet and top competitor in weight pull competitions and conformation shows.
We are opposed to all forms of animal cruelty, and do not promote any illegal activities, but we celebrate the history of the pit bull and value its qualities of courage, strength and tenacity as the essence of the breed.
We are therefore against all forms of breed-specific legislation, and work to protect the constitutional rights of pit bull owners.

Re: ears
Cutting the ears is a mere personal preference, and we prefer natural ears here. No need in wasting money on an ear trim. A disadvantage of cut ears is they tend to be dirtier than natural ears...

Re: ears
Well.........i'm gonna be the one to break the mold. I like em cut and I like a short crop. (although I have dogs both ways) Nothing more than just a looks thing.
If I feel a dog is going to have a thick head, I tend to crop to accent the dogs head.
Ears would be a disadvantage to a dog in the []. Just another place to grab.

Having ears is a advantage...Would you perfer the dog get grabbed by the ear or the side of the head...I would say ear...

EXACT same thing I was thinking...lol hate to pay for an ear crop and then see it get chewed away during a hog hunt.

Re: ears
A major thing to think about when cropping the ears is what if the dog doesn't work out? Man, that's just more money down the drain....
But, hey it's just a preference.
