Re: Best Yellow Stud?
Aside from word of mouth, I've found that if you go on the online pedigrees page if you can get on it and find a pedigree with the dog in question, click on the dog's name, and then click on offspring at the top. A great example of a dog who has a phenomenal number of off spring out there is Frisco. Check his offspring list and you'll see a lot of other well-know foundation dogs. He was one busy boy though I know there was I don't know how many were artificially inseminated posthumously. J

I understand that Texas Express kennels NUBS is producing some good ones. Nubs is off of Tant's Travis( double bred Yellow) to a Double bred Tab bitch.

Re: Best Yellow Stud?
frisco's dogs arent even off him hence the reason the adba wont register garner's dogs anymore due to him refusing to do a dna test. and besides that how many of the frisco dogs are produceing. the best producing bitch would have to be prolines pugsley, her and ka produced good solid dogs.
i have mixed feelings about mayday dogs, i think they have a low percentage of good dogs but the worthy dogs off this line in my opinion are above average.
i think little john would have to be the best if he is still alive.

Re: Best Yellow Stud?
Yellow II, Red Man, Stumpy - all great dogs. You absolutely have to give Mayday his due; the dog was a phenomenon. I'm kind of partial toward Big John though. The very best dogs I've ever owned have a generous amount of John running through their veins, and they are simply awesome!Yeah, they lack a little mouth, but they certainly make up for it in gameness, ability, intelligence, name it. They tend to run a little big, and that can be a hinderance, but they're some of the best catchweight dogs I've ever dealt with, period. Big John is not a dog which I would consider "great", but damn, I'm loving his blood. I've had a few Mayday dogs, but none worked out for me - one was a 1xL, and the others were straight curs. That doesn't diminish the fact that Mayday was a helluva dog.

Re: Best Yellow Stud?
I can't comment on the dogs that I havn't dealt with first hand because of all of the bullcrap that is going on now with paperhanging and fake breedings, but I can say that Yellow II (Bud) produced us some of the best hunting dogs I have ever seen. We had a total of 26 wins between 4 dogs, imagine if the other 8 pups hadn't been destroyed by each other. None of these were reported hunts but anyone that's in the game in the southeast can tell you about these dogs. I mean, how many dogs have there been that really threw consistant bite, super gameness, intelligence, ability, and durability. Look into what I'm saying and you'll find out very quickly that all of what I've said is true.
