Yeah, too much protein can be bad for the dog. Why would you give your dog whey protein?

Weightlifters use it.

Its wouldnt hurt if you give her a little whey protein once in awhile but too much of anything is no good for you. Also if your feeding your dog high quality good dog food then you wouldnt really need to supplement anything unless you are working the dog out really hard for a certain event or if your dog is sick or malnorished.

There's really no reason to supplement whey protein unless you're working a dog pretty hard. If I have one in a keep, I supplement a gram of whey protein per pound of body weight every day. If the dog isn't working, it will likely just get fat on protein supplements.
I agree with rockstar! There really is no need for whey protein unless you are truly conditioning your dog and if so do it in moderation. Bodybuilders use whey protein for a totally different reason! For dogs, supplements should only be used to replenish the dog when the dog food just is not getting it done. A dog will usually go back to what it was once it is off the supplements almost just like human bodybuilders.

No need to give additional proteins. Your dog food already has it.
