how do i put an image in the same field as i am writing now without having it as an attachment

Well, you really shouldn't because of the possible physical size and file size of the image. But you can use the img bbcode tag (http://www.game-dog.com/forums/misc.php?do=bbcode#imgcode) to display it if you must show it within the post.

Soon, you will be able to attach images and display the thumbnails of them anywhere in your post instead of at the very bottom of the post, if you choose to. And that will be better for everybody :)
