As of 1 DEC 2004 Army Family Housing on Hawaii banned all Pitbull breeds
and any dominant mix of Pitbull, to include Staffordshire terriers. Navy
housing here in Hawaii has a ban on Pit bulls, Rottweilers, Chow Chows,
Doberman Pinschers, German Shepherds, Siberian Huskies, Perro de Presa
Canarios and Wolf hybrids. Marine Corps also has banned Pitbulls from their
housing. Please be aware that if you have clients that are PCSing to
Hawaii, they should look at the housing pet restrictions before spending
hundreds of dollars to ship their pets here. People are allowed to have
Pitbulls here in Hawaii, but you may have to live in off-post housing. Very
few of the off-post housing here allow pets and rent is very expensive. I
don't know if this message was ever sent out. I am still seeing new people
arriving to Hawaii with their Pitbulls and not knowing about the ban.
